AOC u3477Pqu 34-Inch 3440 x 1440 Monitor

ok well on first power up it clicked 3 times i powered it off and powered it up again made no noise it was running at 59htz so i changed it to 60htz

i ran a monitor test evaluation i downloaded
perfect pixels no bright or dead or what ever the term is for them
slight backlight glow but that changes on depending where your eyes are looking at the monitor there on most large screens now
even my samsung 4k UE48HU7500 its got about the same glow as that

absolutely 0 zero backlight bleed
this was putting me off getting a monitor like this as it apparently plagued a lot of them

there is one problem
its huge and i think im starting to get a tan from it...still testing

well after playing assassins creed unity im getting an amazing 7 to 16 fps.. asus gtx680 tops all settings on low think i need to save up for a new vid card
i was getting around 50 fps on my old 24" benq

I wouldn't use unity as a benchmark - probably dislikes anything but 16:9!

Try a reliable game :)

That said, even if it is just unity i Imagine you would want to upgrade anyway :)

Good to hear about the lack of bleed.

ok after a thinking and debating hard for a long time I decided to go with
the GALAX GeForce GTX 970 OC Silent "Infinity Black Edition" 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card **WorldWide Exclusive**
it took me about 3 months of good hard research on different cards 970/980 and the worry of the dreaded coil whine..ive had this before with an old amd card and its really annoying and being used to an asus would have been my first choice ...but in the end thought id like to get this one fingers crossed its ok for what I need and for what it does and doesn't do.....only prob is I hate dpd delivery slots... oh well can't have everything........... I know this is in the wrong thread but its all down to this new monitor and what it needs to make it better for my acu game and new games on this screen

and ive had the asus gtx680 tops ..brick of a card for a long time now brilliant card very quiet and need to keep up with the times

brick as its about the same thickness..

Trying to decide between going for this or finding an extra £200 for the Dell U3415w curved model? In some ways I wonder if I might actually prefer the flat display as I'm not sure about the curve and whether it's worth the premium?

i was also looking into getting the dell but this aoc was my first choice
as for a curved screen i do like piccys and i wouldn't think a curved screen would be good for looking at piccys/video and editing them but i don't know as im used to flat screens and never had a curved screen apart from taking a look at one in a shop when i was researching a new tv i wanted and did like the look of them till i saw the price compared to a flat screen but i knew what tv i wanted at the time
but i have noticed with a flat monitor screen you have to move your head from side to side when your close to it not much but annoying for me.. sometimes i get neck pains as i broke my neck years ago ..but mostly its all down to personal choice the aoc is a nice monitor and i really like the curved screen look on the dell and im sure the dell would be fantastic monitor its got tons of things the aoc hasn't got..

i like my new vid card GALAX GeForce GTX 970 OC Silent "Infinity Black Edition seems like your true to your word (OCUK) absolutely silent
all i can hear now is the gentle sound of my X2 120mm pwm cpu fans on my zalman lq315 in game ...there not zalman fans...
that probably need replacing with quieter fans eventually.. there running at just over 1600rpm maxed out.. but when running normal at around 1000rpm i can barely hear them

now i can play acu with decent fps on my brand new bleed free
aoc u3477pqu...me is happy

ill get a 1080 vid up soon not that i need to as there are lots popping up on youtube

still need to test card on the SAMSUNG UE48HU7500 4K

this cards so quiet
and thin can't beleive how thin it is..tempted to get another.. one day

was so worried that it was gonna start screeching at me but not heard a peep from it .....yet..
so far tests...
firestrike..
ungine heaven..
bf4 only prob with this game at the moment is the start and end zombie screen closes down to 1080 with black bars on either side
so you can't chat or it makes it hard to chat in game not tested it yet but half the message screen is missing
acu ....which is probably the most hungriest graphics game ive ever played to date
im getting on high settings between 30-50 fps in acu which isn't bad at all since they mucked it up with the new patch 4 dropping the frames... i do recommend the GALAX GeForce GTX 970 OC Silent "Infinity Black Edition if your worried about noise and like to be able to hear a flea fart... it is silent.......

and great delivery service by dpd was a bit worried as i had to mot my car at the time of delivery so gave dpd a ring and told them to leave it in a safe place and car passed mot fine card arrived fine and fast well done on such a fast delivery service ocuk and dpd

8 jan 15 when i got back from mot it was waiting for me ...

wish list... 120mm thermaltake Mod-X pwm fan running at 1000rpm max with a 100 cfm at 12dba ...hahaha

sorry if i put this in the aoc thread but the card is relating to the aoc monitor

whats on your wish list... pc wise.....

Hmm, several sites have this at around £600 but the Dell U3415W is less than £100 more than that in most places. If the price difference had been closer to £200-300 I'd have been tempted to go with the AOC but I reckon it's probably worth the extra £100 for the Dell warranty and direct support.

You make a very good point +1 for dell support
