@Plec his 4000hit will work in the Pro/Ultra/Master i believe - prob save the cash with 3600 version and push tighter timings with Ryzen Ram Calculator using 3733hz
@GIGA-Man - Does that mean some reviewers will have your/a PICe 4.0 NVMe to test as well ...?
if true, nice ! just the copper colouring
Thanks @GIGA-Man, appreciated - and have you managed to slip an ITX into your backpack yet?
Yeah, i'm sure they like the web coverage - although in this case not particularly flattering without context.
The rumour mill was implying 3600MHz+ was a doddle just after computex - 8pack has hinted the same (i think - don't quote me).
3733Mhz will be my sticking point.
Yep.... not all but a nice number I've been busy ....
I so wish.... had to make sure media had all the samples as there were only a few units for testing. Fingers crossed ITX will have at least a few full reviews on launch day.
May get to test both as will have the Ballistix from son's build to try - if i buy it.Samsung B or Micron E ?
What about the RX 5700? (who needs ray tracing minecraft - not my son if he doesn't see its existence)so, will be you grabbing 2070 or 2060 super then ?

You know what - i completely forgot about GPU releases regarding build - i'll have to stick in the 1070 i was going to pass on to my nephew. Been reading so much about CPUs/MBs that i've pretty much ignored the GPU bs altogether.
I can’t be buying any new graphics card atm. I just don’t think the markets in the right place for buyers. The 5700 looks underwhelming and the supers just seem a rushed out minuscule improvement knee jerk reaction to Navi. Plus, everything is just too expensive. I’m gonna wait till next years new launches to buy a new card. What about the RX 5700? (who needs ray tracing minecraft - not my son if he doesn't see its existence)

You've assumed correctly - i wouldn't install a blower (well reference in general) - not sure why they don't follow Nvidia's lead on this.>snip<
I switched from a 24” 1080 TN to a 27” 1440 IPS a couple of weeks back, and even on my ancient system it’s rejuvenated my gaming. Everything is just so lovely and vibrant to look at. Started to get back into games that I’d lost interest in playing as they just didn’t get me involved on a poor screen like the new one does. It wasn’t cheap, but it was worth every penny imo, and the new build will just allow it to show off in its full glory. You've assumed correctly - i wouldn't install a blower (well reference in general) - not sure why they don't follow Nvidia's lead on this.
Hate to admit it but i've bought mostly Nvidia in recent times (mining the main cause) - even opted for 1060Ti over v56 for my son a few months ago - but that was for board/ease concerns - new gen Nvidia are far more slutty/compliant on older boards in my experience.
Like, @robfosters above I may even wait 6 months - as i really have very little need of a new GPU @ 1440p (rem i use my DELL Ultrasharps so no 144Hz for me - but clocked to 70Hz, :/). Although, my nephew may feel differently.
We'll see on that one - i did want total new kit - but GPU timing isn't the best - as I never buy reference, but will buy third party on release and probably the 2070 super (all i need) as will consider refreshing monitor but still Ultrasharps. May have a glance at a single 144Hz IPS panel - but would ruin panel continuity - but as son gets older i will probably game more. Perhaps i'll revisit sons PC again - and live vicariously through that.

Staying with my GTX 1070s for now
team group3200mhz 16gb Samsung B-die Kit £82.99 not bad price
Micron I think still only make ICs up to 3000mhz?
AMD stated on PC World special edition on youtube the NEW CPUs sweet spot is 3600mhz
Yeah, 2070 Super is there only if i consider slumming it in the future with an additional 144Hz panel next to my 27" Ultra's - although the price will probably be similar :/ (although, i really don't want 3 panels again :s)2060 super should do the trick, with 8gb vram - fine for 60hz 1440p as it's pretty much a 2070 without the £50-80 price tag. 2070 super makes more sense cost wish as its Cuda core count at 300+ extra were as 2060 and 8- super is 130 odd .
Think some recent sets have been - pot luck.they aren't B-Die
Came prepared:@Plec
why you should get our son the Aorus 7 or MSI B450 ITX at least!
