Aorus/Gigabyte X570 - Buildzoid Ripple tests with AORUS & ASUS

Ahhh, must have missed them, many thanks! I think I'll hang fire until some more premium offering are available :)
Dont think there will be.
Asrock x570m pro4 and x570m pro4 r2.0

That being said, asrock has only shown off the x570m pro4.

So I won't be surprised if the r2.0 is cancelled

**** me - don't go outside, i feel like i've been used as a heatsink for a 9900K and it's didn't have the courtesy to throttle. :s (Beer garden meeting - great idea, not!)

Cheers, @orbitalwalsh - memory in my Ryzen build doc (which, doesn't include x470 :p) - didn't quote as don't want you getting mail. :D

Nah. Gonna go with 32gb ram.
Micron e die 3200 c16 is £170 for 32gb
@tamzzy - has a citizen population he needs to maintain - he doesn't believe in mass genocide on a global scale. He could save on 16Gb by having a Thanos DLC for CSL.

Is m-atx a dying breed?
You'll probably see more appear in the b550 lineup.

But with ITX having such pimped out boards, even on the b variants - and coupled with the innovative case designs and cooling, it must have eaten into M-ATX market.

Skylines ?
Nope - he's got a termite farm with a delicately balanced eco-system that's hermetically sealed and has its population, atmosphere, food and water cycle regulated by his PC.

The population is getting so big it's using up system memory, as it's a reactive based code for each individual termite. As his colony grows, so his system resources reduce - it's an expensive, costly and sad way of, literally, making friends :D

@Plec @tamzzy my inner nerd just jizzed over the complexity of the situation at hand ...

My inner dad thought how many of them could my kids free and cats try to eat

Then my RTS is pondering having a battle with another farm or running a Fallout /Vault system with multiple farms .. haha

Skylines ?
yeah lol

#thematrix
good thing neo anderson doesn't exist in my save lol

That Auros Extreme is shaping up to be a pretty solid choice. Plenty of headroom, right angle 24Pin ATX, passive chipset cooling and otherwise a pretty solid layout.

That’s what I want. But I’m worried about the price after seeing the price of the extreme. Could be £400+.

Yeah, but as a platform change which should last 4+ years I could probably justify it.

Edit - I meant to put extreme in my previous post with regards to the features (passive Chipset etc). That being said, if the active cooling on the chipset is intelligent (IE only runs when needed) then the passive cooling might not even be needed.

If the chipset fan on the other boards only spins up when needed then ok but if not I will spend the extra on the extreme. I leave this machine on while watching films and its silent at all tasks apart from gaming and I would pay a premium to keep it that way.

Yeah, this is the expectation (not difficult to implement) - but no mention of 'semi-passive' in descriptions which seems conspicuous by its absence, especially given all the web banter about concern over fan noise, as soon as they were spotted.

With all the leaks - especially ones revelling in demonstrating the fan trying to burrow through the MB at manic speeds - it would have been cool had they taken the time to address the simple issue of semi-passivity or not.
