Aorus/Gigabyte X570 - Buildzoid Ripple tests with AORUS & ASUS

Is the Aorus ITX board out on the 7th for sale, has it been confirmed ?

Have the caustic soda bath ready for the heat sinks :).

There will be reviews on launch day of that board, I've sent out the samples but can't confirm which ones yet.
Yep, we are finally going to have stock of the ITX version on sale at launch too....

@tamzzy ^^^^^^^^^^ :D

@Troop would recommend a good top down cooler like the Dark Rock TF for the board!!!

now @GIGA-Man .. the Aorus AIO ? pains me its Asetek but does like pretty and more customisation then ASUS version

and dark/black aorus ram too... least z390 and x570 system will match

@Plec seems 8 Pack 4000hz kit should work straight off the bat with Pro/master

Yes, top down cooler is the plan with a custom mod VRM heatsink so flow is forced onto/through it.

Just need to see how much room I have to Tig weld some alloy onto the heatsink.

wonder if you could add a U Bend heatpipe and use the backplate for extra surface area ?

also wonder if EKWB will do a mono block for it

Have to see how much room there is as it's going to be tight, can't find a pic without the back panel connector plate/cover.

its half tempting to just dremel/saw more cuts into the stock block to create more surface area . Luckily i have 17 W/km heat pads which should help

seems TDA 21472 thermal limit is 125c and is £4 a unit! more integrated mosfets are £0.70

@Plec - its the Elite !

From that pre-view, i may as well pull off the heatsinks for my 3700X/3800X.

If i jump early i will still go with the Pro but I could easily get away with the Elite from that summary. I know Gigabyte did a complete 180 (ignoring Gaming 7) but the degree in which they've done it across the whole spectrum is great - has bunched up the boards for my needs (part of me wants to be an idiot and buy the Xtreme - but enjoy stretching performance, and even i can't justify the expense for losing a fan - depending on noise of said fan.).

i think the ITX version is 100% hidden as there is no space to see anything lol
That and my A. C Clarke, 2001 monolith would block out the board's physical presence anyway. Coupled with the fact i still wouldn't have a window :p

ITX would truly be wasted on me unless i go back to AIO - but that Streacom DA2 has turned my head.

@Plec lol. Not interested in the ATX sized boards :p
Hehe, forgot about your 'Sylvanian Family' sized builds.

I'll just have to work extra shifts to pay off the paint job on the car. :(
Just looked at your thread/recent replies - looking expensive :/. Shame my guy isn't close to your area.

Still intending to get the 3900x - pending reviews
Drop to a 3700X and enjoy the challenge with me - although i may cave and get the 3800X if it reviews considerably better...

@Plec, 4 layer PCB and single 8 pin - think long run and go Pro or older Aorus 7 is they land at £180/200....

least with 8+4 you know you can drop a 16 core in 2/3 years time and overclock the nuts of it, along with 3700hz+ ram

personally think if people are going after boards it'll be Gaming X on for budget , X470 Aorus 7 then Pro wifi with Master at the top .

if elite and Pro non wifi match Aorus 7 pricing.... 7 would stand out until there is no stock left

seems @GIGA-Man has gone in with PR Marketing to the XTREME... high number VRMs.. even if lower end how lower quality and smaller number, they are higher amp units so can scream numbers game and then top end can scream 16 channel controller etc . How are they going to improve with Zen 3 boards and intel 10 core/ 10nm ??? haha

wondering if Gigabyte/Aorus B550 boards will beat some of the entry X590/Z390 boards out there lol

@Plec, 4 layer PCB and single 8 pin
Yeah, that was the kicker - if i didn't move on boards quickly i would want the choice to stretch the cores of a 3950X.

But, reality is I will then be looking at Zen 3 as this setup will probably get turned over quickly to my son (he's proving to be a coding wizz-kid). That is, 'if' i don't buy the Pro Carbon/Zen+ for him - as current prices are hard to ignore.

I'll only have one INTEL build in the house if I do that (ignoring laptops) - freaky...

@Plec grab him the Aorus 7 instead of the Carbon and you know he'll be set for any Zen chip you throw at him ;)

£100 more but your rocking a better board, then Pro for yourself so your little ahead harware wish! and rock Zen2 for yourself, though you might find your son could be on Ryzen 3000 too....

and think you'll be fine with 12 cores instead of 16 haha ! even with 5nm not in a fewe years time, dont think they can squeeze more on the die unless AM5??? is larger in footprint or CCX increases to 10 cores which it might just...

wondering if Gigabyte/OCUK will kick out Aorus 7 and Zen2 bundles...

Hey, you're gently bumping up my up upgrade path costs like you do with some spec me threads - you have your mooooore power head on!.. :D

The Zen+ in the Pro Carbon is a place holder for the 3700X/3800X when i've finished with it. I don't need it but can't see any builds coming my way to play with as upgraded most with Zen+ - and i don't want to miss out playing with this transitional period of tech. And, I've advised friends/family that they don't upgrade as there's little to no point in all cases - bar 1, and that may be a monster, but minimum 6 months away and very much not a toy.

Son will slum it with Pro Carbon and future 8 Core; especially for the games he plays - at the moment they're mostly all pixel art - i don't get it. And WTF is Undertale and its appeal?.. He makes me feel so old with games - at least i understood the appeal of Minecraft - once Tekkit and Sphax was applied - and enjoy FTL (wish i had thought of that) - but some of the others look like they would run on a broken 1980s Casio calculator...

Damn !

Highly doubt it to begin with. Surely they'll start with selling separately to keep prices at max. Bundles always end up having some kind of discount.

Sure ? Specially since they produce own PSU and SSDs can throw in for free along with bring boards down to £200 odd and flashing them. Never say never. Resellers and vendors hate having old stock .
Though good to see x470 flagships holding their price. Aorus 7 launched at £180 then creeped all the way to £250, now sitting at £220 .
Could easily sell mine for pricing of B450 and not lose much yet be more attractive :D

@Plec ^^^ resale value ;)

So the Pro might be the cheapest (note, not cheap) if you want to drop a 16 core CPU in down the line?

Most likely , you've got 12 phases at 40amps each, 8+4 pin CPU power to feed a hungry overclocked 16 core and 6 layer PCB for build quality and ram. Believe 8 Packs 4000hz kit works fine in the board.
Also have 80% of the CPU VRM cooled by finned heatsink
And then UK RMA when Brexit... Is Brexit and don't have to post £20 to ASRock across the seas haha

X470 Aorus 7 is 8+4 pin and 10x 40amps so Pro tips it but guessing it'll be priced the same ...
Also Aorus 7 has 8 layer PCB , same as Xtreme x570 @Plec - all B450 are 4 . And why Pro should handle 4000hz with current design a d Xtreme will shoot even higher !

A 2080Ti to run Minecraft - does not compute... (looks incredible)

/hides link from #1 son - a Zen+ plus quality board is enough for an impromptu upgrade out of the blue, even if it is for practical reasons.

I know how spec me members feel now - where's my 'Plec' who joins the thread and gives a revised build for compromise on power to budget ratio for comparison? :D

Had 'liitle man' sat by me earlier - showed him the x470 - his response - 'That looks colourful' - no other follow up questions. Yep, he's not getting a premium X470...

I'll probably get the x570 Pro or better after reviews (and fan assessment) and either the 3700X/3800X - and if Monday delivers significant drops on the 2600/2600X i'll scoop up a Pro Carbon and and CPU with 16Gb Ballistix or lucky dip T-Force b-die (tinker with the memory).

He'll inherit the Zen2 8 core but that will be it - 12/16 core doubtful as may jump straight to Zen 3 if x570 swallows it (but after price drops, not immediate adoption) - so Pro Carbon is all he's getting.

You're up to bat, Orbi - but I should warn you i'm a shrewd practitioner of the arts of dissuasion:
