Hello fellow AORUS lovers
I've got some pics of the new 10 series V6 range for you today. These should hopefully show how wonderfully crafted these latest laptops are and after giving the X7 a whirl, it's kinda making me want to upgrade from my V3 already
Lets take a look around the X7 V6 CF2.
This is one slim and beautiful slab of technology. Atom80, it might not be here when you come to get these... that's all I'm sayin'
In all seriousness though, I've come to expect a level of quality from AORUS by now, which is in my eyes extremely difficult to match. Yet, I'm still surprised with each series when I see them firsthand. Component upgrades aside, focusing on the design and features of the AORUS chassis, they've absolutely nailed it yet again AND with some welcome features.
For example - This.
This god damn keyboard. There isn't any crazy genius voodoo, it's just that AORUS seem to have slightly increased the keys' travel distance and it makes a world of difference. It's SO much more satisfying to use and I am more than happy to game on this without feeling the necessity to plug in an external mechanical keyboard. It may just be me, but they also feel like they have slightly more resistance on the key presses too so it doesn't feel like you're just typing on cardboard like with pretty much every other laptop keyboard I've used. Spot on, chaps.
Another addition to the X7 V6 is the implementation of two extra air intakes on the left and right of the speakers above the keyboard. This allows cool air to come into the laptop, instantly over the heatpipes and straight out the side and back of the chassis.

Result: even better cooling. Sick.
This particular unit is the X7 V6-CF2 model. Specs are as follows:
CPU: Intel i7-6820HK @2.7-3.6GHz
RAM: 16GB DDR4 2400MHz
GPU: Geforce GTX 1070 8GB
SSD: 256GB PCIe M.2
HDD: 1TB 7200rpm
Screen: 17.3" 1920 x 1080p IPS 75Hz G-SYNC Display
The X7 V6 also comes in a CF1 variant with twice the SSD storage in RAID 0 and a 1440p IPS G-SYNC 120Hz panel. Topping the range is the X7 DT V6 which has the same upgrades as the CF1 but instead of the mighty 1070, it homes an even mightier GTX 1080. Remember, there are no "mobile" versions of the 10 series GPUS so these are full-fat, disgustingly quick 1070s and 1080s!
Family photo time:
Left: AORUS X7 V6-CF2 which we've covered
Middle: The baby of the 3 but with a massive bite - AORUS X3 Plus V6. The X3 of the 10 series sports the same i7 and has some serious spec for a 13.9" laptop. The screen offers approximately 264 PPI pixel density, which is insane – easily the most crisp image quality I have ever seen on a laptop.
CPU: Intel i7-6820HK @2.7-3.6GHz
RAM: 16GB DDR4 2400MHz
GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
SSD: 512GB PCIe M.2 SSD
HDD: 1TB 7200rpm
Screen: 13.9” IGZO 3200x1800 QHD+ IPS Display (hhnnnnnnnn)
I'll get some more detailed pictures of this nutter soon as I understand that stock of this one is quite limited at the moment. The best features of this particular model – in my opinion – are definitely its light weight and super high res screen, especially for the panel size. Naturally, you’d want to up the text scaling a little for general use, but playing games like Overwatch and CS:GO on this screen is such a neat experience on the 1800p display. The X3 Plus V6 has white keyboard backlighting for the easiest viewing. This one would definitely be my choice for heavy travelling.
Right: AORUS X5 V6-CF1
This particular X5 is essentially the same performance specification as the X7 so you will get the same gaming power as the X7 V6-CF2 set at the same resolution. The main difference between these two is the screen. The X5 V6-CF1 has a 3K WQHD+ 2880 x 1620 IPS G-SYNC display. NOICE! Games are crisp and smooth thanks to the power of the GTX 1070 paired with G-SYNC so I think this resolution is a real sweet spot.
CPU: Intel i7-6820HK @2.7-3.6GHz
RAM: 16GB DDR4 2400MHz
GPU: GeForce GTX 1070 8GB
SSD: 256GB PCIe M.2 SSD
HDD: 1TB 7200rpm
Screen: 15.6” 3K 2880x1620 WQHD+ IPS G-SYNC Display
If you would prefer a higher refresh rate over the higher resolution, the X5 V6 is also available with a 1080p 120Hz G-SYNC panel available
here! Another difference visually is that the power button and AORUS logo are both backlit with the classic AORUS orange colour rather than white. A small aesthetic detail that just provides variety.
