Apex Legends BR

Got 3 wins today with my sons and 2 with randoms, absolutley loving the game so far.

Im a team player and play as lifeline mainly, anyone wanting to play hook me up origin - SM-Scorps75

I started streaming this and already nearly at the 50 followers Affiliate goal!

If anyone wants to help a brother out please check me out and come play! Always up for a game

Seems to me that the update broke more than it fixed. Had lots of games today where players disconnected mid-match for no reason.

This game is so fun. Amazingly well polished on release, the characters and weapons are well balanced and it feels really fluid. Most fun multiplayer game I've played in a long time.

Just been doing a bit of digging, and there are other people experiencing the same intermittent problem that I am. A few of them have come to the conclusion that it's down to the other player having a crappy connection. The game does actually register them as hits on your screen, but 90% of the time it doesn't register them as actual hits in the game. So it looks like you're doing damage, but in reality you're not thanks to somebody else's ****** internet.

That 'Shroud' chap had one too - Link to Twitch Clip.

I'm enjoying this now, but I'm not looking forward to the continual stream of new Legends to unlock if you want to have any chance at winning games.

So what would this game be like for a 12 year-old?

My eldest has been really ramping up the pester power about being allowed to play as apparently most of his classmates do. To be honest, though, I don't believe the parents of most of his classmates have the first idea about games, and online gaming especially, so I don't set any store by that.

From what I can see the content looks okay and not much different to Fortnite in terms of violence, but what I'm more concerned about is how the community and in-game communication works. Knowing how toxic many gaming communities can be I'm not keen to expose him to any of that for as long as I can avoid it.

So, how does this work? In the game are you open to voice and/or text comms from other players? How is/can this be managed?

Do you think the new legends will be stronger than the ones we already have? I have no problems with having to unlock new characters if it breeds new life into the game each time.

You can't talk to the other teams. You can only use voice chat for your team mates, so the risk is minimal in those terms.
You can also turn off voice if needs be, you can turn on voice to text conversation if you dont want him to hear what others are saying, although they'd be able to read it. It's pretty good tech IMO.

The theory is sound, but because they're all different some will be better than others. It's EA after all, so they'll probably go the Blizzard Overwatch route where new characters are *slightly* overpowered, then patch them back down a couple months later like "whoops".

Essentially I have zero faith in a MTX game to remain impartial. Only POE I've seen that's done that so far.

Ah cool, so if we have a rule that he can only team with RL friends then that should be cool from the perspective of who/what he's exposed to. Thanks.

Me and my son play, he is 11, he also plays fortnite a lot with school mates. So far we have only encountered a one toxic player who gave us a bit of abuse for being n00bs. On the whole it has been fine, I have found most randoms dont talk much and you cant hear the other squads anyway.

As with most of these squad based games playing with his mates would be best. :)

IMO its slightly op
While moving its short range hipfire is still very accurate, if you ADS its still laser beam accurate 1 head shot and 4 body shots is enough to kill you with max armor thats before you factor in the skull piercing mod coupled with the fact purple heavy mags arent exactly rare giving you 12 rounds.
Reduce its ROF or its hip fire accuracy while moving.

In which case you'll be left with 1 in the clip and will inevitably be traded by another player in the other team (if they're not bots of course). It's sole purpose is to kill at close quarters, which it does effectively. Let's be honest it's not exactly hard to counter either - stay at distance and strafe. It's also worth mentioning that both the EVA-8 and Peacekeeper have higher DPS, so viable if not better alternatives are available.

I guess dropping the purple mag to 10 would help to an extent to stop players spamming it via hip fire.

Provided they keep the abilities/ultimates of the characters similar in terms of impact to the game as the ones that already exist I think it should be okay... from my perspective all of the abilities are useful but they aren't like Overwatch Ultimates where you simply plod about the map with terrible positioning and awareness plinking shots into other players then just mash Q and win despite your lack of skills...

You can throw down Bangalore smokes as much as you want but if you can't hit your shots on the enemy players or take up good positions etc. it's going to act as a mild distraction at best

Sounds good in theory. In practice, occasionally he/his friends will suffer disconnects and a random will be placed in his squad instead. At that point, he becomes exposed to possible voice/text abuse from that player. Also, if only one friend is available to play with him the same is true. There is no way to prevent this at the moment.

I would like to give this game a fair crack of the whip but after struggling for a couple of hours I gave up. I'm getting motion sickness and I was hoping I could just power through it, it's due to head bobbing and at the moment their is no option to turn it off.
