I thought the 3GS to iPhone 4 was huge. It was the first mainstream phone camera I found to be capable of taking some really impressive images and video (outdoors), and the screen was fantastic too.

FaceTime made video calling much more common, and the phone itself was very nice in the hand.

Still my favourite iPhone to date. Though since the 5s, none of the newer phones have been that much better, aside from size.

Looking forward to the announcement later though, it's always interesting, and slightly cringeworthy as well...

Our work cover phone has just become an old iphone 4s, I was asked to setup the mailbox on it, it was great to hold again, hadn't held one since I sold my 4 years ago, it still feels great in the hand, nice and weighty, it feels very premium, even now. The 4 was an excellent design, that's for sure!

I hate the whooping. I remember a few years ago switching the stream off because they crowd were whooping because they announced hybrid drives. Ergh.

I'm still completely lost. Do i fix my recently shattered iPhone 6 and wait till next year or get this one. Hmm. What are fellow iPhone sixers doing?

If anyone comes in trying to be funny or deliberately tries to cause trouble with "sheep" comments...

Ewe would have to be bored (and an idiot) to sit trolling a phone thread. :p:p:p

For us iPhone sixers.. I've almost got my new - to me and in condition - 6S+ setup and will give this a watch later on. This would have to be a big step to make me feel as though I've made a mistake. Camera is epic. And I barely noticed the lockscreen as Touch ID was so fast.

Unless its going to be worth it and doesn't miss things you want, go for the 7. If you don't need the shiniest gadget, want a 3.5mm port* and a bloody good phone, just get the S model and save a few quid.

*probably correct? Who knows till we see it.

So today I tried using my bluetooth earphones for the "whole" day instead of just the gym. Phone died at 2PM.

This is why I don't agree with going the bluetooth route with battery technology still being behind.

One day, when battery technology catches up, that route will certainly be feasible. Less wire tangle, etc.. Although my cable has one of those wraps in so it's exactly the right length from my ears to jeans pocket with some slack.

I'm just not keen on Apple breaking the cycle. I was happy on a 2 year cycle but it seems those of us who jumped in at the beginning and not being on the S cycle have missed out.

I've been reading rumours today that say that Apple have designed their own Bluetooth chip which increases connectivity and is much more battery efficient.

The only way I can see a "headphone jack-less" iPhone being a winner is if they've improved wireless technology enough that there is no difference to battery life or audio quality... We shall see... 1hr 30mins to go ;)

Also, looking forward to seeing the next Apple Watch - I may be buying this one!

Same situation for me. After using a 6S+ I really hate my 6. It's like going from 144hz back to 60hz.

I will obviously move to something faster but I don't know if I want to buy a generation old phone as I've never bought something that was behind current gen.

Exactly as I said, everyone at work using a headset listening to music has the phone on charge at the same time. Using wired through lightening just won't be feasible. So you are forced to go blue tooth and worry about keeping those charged instead.

Same as me, was planning on moving from standard 6 to a 7+ but with all the talk about next year this will be the first ever numerical iPhone I haven't owned.

Makes me a bit sad.

Let's hope the weakened pound against the dollar doesn't see a sly increase in price

We are going to get an increase regardless. Apple knows how to do over the UK because people still buy them on silly expensive contracts.

Might tune in 30 mins, after they spend that time talking about rubbish no one of cares about.

"we sold X amount of iPhones last year! Yay!"
"we are now 50% more efficient since 1995! Yay! "
"businesses prefer apple devices in 2015 compared to 2010! Yay"
"apples grow on trees! Yay!"
"the sky is blue! Yay! "

Whoop!!!

Sorry... thought I was in the audience of the event for a second. (I cringe every time someone whoops :()

Another apple iPhone event - time for people to come in crying sheep etc... why can't people just let folk enjoy their devices.

I have had every type of phone yet I still keep going back to iPhone as the simplicity is what I need in a mobile device and it just works for me.

On a 6+ at the moment, looking to go back to a smaller size as I don't need to use it for web browsing as much anymore but honestly feel like this one could last until next years phone if this is only gonna be another speed bump.

Aye...sheep like Samsung every other supplier.
