[*]2GB of RAM for base model / 3GB for "Plus"

Current 6S already has 2GB RAM, they both do. Would be a shame to up the RAM on one this year but not the other.

I don't like how there seems to be more and more differences between the normal vs the plus model. Jam all the good stuff in the standard size model too!

The 6 plus suffered because of the low ram more so than the 6

No iPhone has ever been significantly better than the previous model (with the possible exception of original iPhone to iPhone 3G). Apple just know that the sheep will all come and replace their phones with the newest model, so the £600 baby steps remain profitable! :p

This does apply to some other manufacturers as well (Sony with the Z1 - Z2 - Z3 etc immediately springs to mind) but nobody has mastered the art quite like Apple.

Were they not still using dual core chips when most manufacturers were starting to move from quad core chips, to octa cora/dual quad core chips? :p

The iPad Air 2 aside Apple is still using dual core CPU'a in their iOS devices and are still miles faster than any other ARM design.

The reason Samsung etc went to quad and octo core designs was because their single core performance is horrible, Apple doesn't have that problem.

iPhone 3GS to 4 was pretty huge in terms of design (glass back and the non plastic feel) and the retina display

5S to 6 was pretty big, again, different design and the increase in size on the plus models

When I say massive change, I don't mean it will be unrecognisable, but it will almost certainly have a different design, be it edge to edge or curved display, better screen and so on.

Do you know what woudl be nice, if Apple turned around and said, you know what, we used to be leaders in the smartphone arena, but we've let everyone else catch us up with these slight evolutions and trickling out of new features, we're going to come back with a bang and release the absolute best phone we can with every feature we can fit in it, in it..
Better CPU
Better Camera
Higher res screen
Better speakers
Better battery
Wireless charging
Waterproof

Who am I kidding lol

Then what would they do next year?

Another apple iPhone event - time for people to come in crying sheep etc... why can't people just let folk enjoy their devices.

I have had every type of phone yet I still keep going back to iPhone as the simplicity is what I need in a mobile device and it just works for me.

On a 6+ at the moment, looking to go back to a smaller size as I don't need to use it for web browsing as much anymore but honestly feel like this one could last until next years phone if this is only gonna be another speed bump.

I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread tonight. Any obvious trolling or baiting will not be tolerated.

If anyone comes in trying to be funny or deliberately tries to cause trouble with "sheep" comments will be dealt with accordingly. Let's keep it civil and enjoy the event.

I've updated the first post with how to watch the todays live stream. I've also added links to to live blogs reporting from the event as well. I'll add more live blog links as and when they become available.

I thought the 3GS to iPhone 4 was huge. It was the first mainstream phone camera I found to be capable of taking some really impressive images and video (outdoors), and the screen was fantastic too.

FaceTime made video calling much more common, and the phone itself was very nice in the hand.

Still my favourite iPhone to date. Though since the 5s, none of the newer phones have been that much better, aside from size.

Looking forward to the announcement later though, it's always interesting, and slightly cringeworthy as well...
