Apple vs Samsung, court orders Samsung to show Apple 5 new phones

Apple has totally lost the plot.
Going after Google's Android Jelly Bean 4.1 & Samsung stylus-sporting devices now.
Apple are adding 17 devices that could use a stylus, even if they don't ship with one included.

LOL just LOL ....

maybe they plan to make a device with stylus in 2 years and just want to make sure that no one else will be able to have one

im lost for words on this one

It's not really lost, just been kicked out, as apple didn't agree. To enter a contract on the outcome of the judgment. Which is utterly retarded position by apple, what did they expect to happen? Mind boggling.

As for the jellybean bit, is it against jellybean, or against nexus 4, it says the only phone they want to enter into the case with jellybean is the nexus(although it is the only phone running JB isn't it?). Far to little info.

On a different note, google through Motorola have had their appeal against Microsoft turned down.

No, the Galaxy Note II ships with Jellybean. I think it was the first to come out with JB.

They really are taking the mickey now. Filings etc: http://www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=20121106215405759

Samsung have replied, saying they can add the note 10.1 if they like but they object to Jelly Bean being added on the basis that it could be installed on old devices or even phones that aren't out yet.

Seems Apple are determined to pursue this to the death, they seriously need to be slapped down. For some reason they feel its fine to try and kill competition by litigation.

Meanwhile from what I read they are losing more and more market share....

Oh well they will soon make it all back, prepare to be sued every tech company on the globe. Apple just successfully won a patent for a rounded rectangle. All their previous similar patents had something very specific ontop of the rounded rectangle to make it harder to copy, like the rounded Ipad button for instance.

This patent is just for a rectangle with round corners and nothing else...

It's going to be completely unenforceable so it makes not odds really. Design patents need to be very specific.

There's so much prior art to this that it's untrue.

The decision from the UK High Court last week is now available here. Pretty damning on Apple and makes it perfectly clear why they had to redo the apology. Basically the judge believes they put falsehoods in the statement to deliberately muddy the waters. They've also increased Apple's costs as a direct result of them playing silly buggers.

The javascript hiding the apology has now gone as well.

Wow that was incredibly damning on Apple, they really acted like children in complying with the court order. Total lack of professionalism and judgement. I hope someone at Apple took a real hammering for making Apple look like such amateurs.
