Apple vs Samsung, court orders Samsung to show Apple 5 new phones

 doesn't mean squat of course it does.
So you think I should go with android, which doesn't have nearly the same Eco system and would hinder one my main uses. Buying and watching films.

You are very wrong, of course is should care when it's one of my main uses for such a device and of course it is actually something tangiable..

So you may want to rethink your extremely flawed thinking and try again.

Yeah great, you can hook your android up to a tv and then can't buy films to watch, brilliant. That's me out, might not be an issue for you. But it is an issue to many people. Hence ecosystem is very important and real.

Sorry but you just sound like a brainwashed sheep sucked into the whole "i" trend. You should quit have quit whist you were (barely) ahead.

He isn't. He just understands how these things work.

The Apple ecosystem is excellent and works very well. In many ways it provides a currently unrivalled experience/service. It's easy to just call people 'sheep' because you don't agree with them. It's what normally happens in these threads.

The people who start using the 'sheep' term are usually the strange, obsessed ones. It's frankly embarrassing that some people have such focused rage and hatred towards Apple, all because they market their products well.

Lol to couldn't be further from the truth. I use what ever system fullfills the most of my criteria.
How have I been sucked in?

On the other hand, I've told you why I currently have apple, android has no such system yet you aren't even willing to acknowledge it.

Seems the EU are now interested in patent abuse by Samsung, see here. Be interesting to see where this goes, especially since none of their competitors have actually made a complaint.

Agree with almost eveything you say, although Glaucus chose the wrong feature to highlight (buying films) as this is not really done any better on iOS than Android imho.

how can you say that. Android has no film purchase at all, it also only added rental recently. So what you've said is pretty baffling.

I think you must have missed my post, i'm still waiting for an answer

Yes I did miss. I'm talking iTunes.
What service, you mean the service which simply does not exist on android.

Buying films, states it in the name, Buying not renting or streaming. And yes I also use netflix and other services but they not have the range of films that you can buy outright, I also can't get 3G/wifi everywhere.

Your biggest problems is you seem to of Totaly forgotten we are talking about mobile devices. Not restrained to a livingston/bedroom.

What good is ps3 apps. When you aren't at home.

It's not a marketing ploy at all.

Where is androids complete Eco system?
Androids Eco system comprises apps and film rental. 3rd party ecosystems adds mp3s and books to that list.
Compared to apples ecosystem of mp3s, books, films (buy and rent), apps.
Or as you hate ecosystem, do you want me to wright that paragraph out every time. Rather than simply stating ecosystem and where most people know what you can buy on each.

So yet again, it is something tangiable and isn't a marketing ploy.
I simply can not buy films on android. Even windows has a more complete ecosystem than android and in fact a pretty darn good one.

So let me get this straight, you went for apple because you want to buy movies via your mobile for ever and keep them on your mobile forever. wow that highly unusual,

Personally myself if i want keep a film so much i just buy the BD so i have the highest quality available and rip it to my phone.

Whys that highly unusual? And not to keep on mobile devices forever, I have them on pc as well and can transfer when needed.
I spend a lot of time stuck in vans and hotels.
It's not unuasual at all, plenty of people have traveling jobs and/or jobs that require you to be stuck at a certain location, not doing anything.

So untill android gets a film service(or for a service to release drm free films), it's out of the question for me, why would I buy a device that doesn't fullfill one of my main criterias. So again who's the sheep? And how is it marketing nonsense?. However windows is very much in the question for me and I'll be switching to that when a tablet is released.

That's fine for you, I don't want a disk, I don't want to go to a shop or wait for delivery and I certainly don't want to wait several hours for it to rip.

Google is an advertising company so I doubt we'd see a movie service any time soon. There partners will probably fill the void in some shape or form, but you never know what is around the corner..

And Glaucus: You must go through a lot of bandwidth!

got 50mb at home and unlimited giffgaff on phone 3gb/3month cars on iPad which last variuse amounts of time.
In hotel this week. Watched 9episodes of dexter yesterday and 1film and another 3 episodes of dexter today on the hotel wifi.

Saturday night I will be stuck in the van all night, unable to leave my post, but also no actual work. I'm unsure of reception in that location, so will be pre-loading some stuff.

When I was on Vodafone had 1gb limit, used all that up and still missed the end of an f1 race, using tvcatchup.

Plus is it not still only available to US people?

Works in the UK, But it is only rental, the selection isn't great & the prices are stupid for rentals.

£3.49 for rental of Hangover 2. That needs to come down to at least £1-£1.50 to be viable(to me anyway) & even then I think that is expensive for a rental for £3.49 I'd expect to keep the film especially in digital form!
