Arc Raiders

Trails looks pretty easy this week. Just gotta get lucky with the bunker on spaceport otherwise thats pretty straighforward.

More a complaint than post. I have tried to jump back in, and I'm really enjoying it. However, being middle aged with other responsibilities, I'm finding even with a couple of hours each evening (which is a lot of time for me), I simply cannot keep up with the quests, expeditions, gathering, crafting etc. Is it just me or is there just too much to 'do' to keep up to speed? I find I only ever play free loadouts simply as a loss is an entire eve, or several worth loss in death with a decent load out.

Its a shame, as some friends of mine who can spend 20+ hours a week on the game are obviously having no issues.

Is it worth trying to keep up or just ignore all the stuff and play casually? Is it even worth playing if that's the case? I'm just trying to guage if I should keep trying to catch up to friends or just drop the game.

I've been doing the quests when on and they never seen to end!

I had a look online and there is meant to be 66 to 72 quests in total.

Would hate to have to do these all again if you reset\wipe as they take ages

At some point I did get the hullcracker blueprint but you need a bench of level 3 to access it

Woah! No wonder I feel like I can't get to the end of the gameplay loop. No chance I'm going to have enough time for this game then. Oh well, another one to put on the shelf.

Just do them when you feel like it or want a change from something else to do.

I jump on, do the quest and then fill up and extract

Kept running out of ammo, in the end I had a few wolfpacks I was using to take anything out, grabbing the ammo so I could aggro more Hornets.

I wasn't even intentionally after the Rocketeers lol.

I don't get it! if it was a forced wipe I would totally be with you (and as such would not touch it similar to other promising games ruined by such a feature) but play at your own pace. if you don't want to go on an expedition and lose your stuff next time just skip it. hell you don't ever have to go on one if you don't want.

the isn't really a keeping up with the game. imo.... if you want to PvP some of the cheapest gear in the game is plenty capable (not that I am an expert as I didn't do it).

get your workbenches to level 3 and don't forget your chicken , other than that you are golden imo , that said the missions do pay well sometimes

I've done everything twice. Quests, benches, expeditions, everything. I swear there are a TON less quests the second time around, the first time felt like they would never end.

I wish the game had a more repeatable loop tbh, I've run out of stuff to do.

I've not played many games yet but feel a few weeks ago far more people were talking. The last five games or so, no voice, no emotes. Seems strange to me to not even emote in this game.

I've been playing like a good boy for days and the vast majority of players I've encountered have been friendly and some even helpful. This game really messes with your head though and you simply cannot let your guard down.

I came across a player last night in a building who immediately started spamming "don't shoot" and flashing his torch, so I acknowledged and carried on searching rooms but noticed he was kind of hanging around. He then starts asking about teaming up but then as soon as I started searching a drawer he kills me giving me no chance to defend myself.

I'm trying to resist the urge to start killing other players and this kind of encounter really pushes you lol. I don't want to end up on a server with a bunch of sweats as trying to complete quests.

In hindsight, I swear I saw him aim his gun at me very momentarily whilst he was doing his wanna team up act so I guess that was my opportunity to take action and I should learn from it, but yeah I guess the point is you just cannot relax in this game ever and it's very hard to tell who is genuinely friendly and who is just out to screw people over.

Yep, as the game says, "trust your gut with other raiders".

If someone follows me, hangs around, or just keeps spamming stuff they're clearly not doing their own thing and my spidey senses tingle like mad. Generally move behind cover where they can't see I'm watching them and if they follow, it's guns time. Gotta manipulate the situation in your favour so you can get the drop on them if needbe.

This is what I love about the game, it can be so unpredictable and really tests your instincts.

Another time I got screwed over by a metro camper and in hindsight it seems pretty obvious what his intentions were as he seemed more interested in me joining him down there than when the train was coming. He even told me to relax on his mic which again in hindsight should have told me something. But it's hard when so many other people are genuinely cool! Lol

Personally think the aggression based matchmaking is a bad idea. Takes out half the fun of not knowing what to expect with interactions with other raiders. Play nice for a while and you generally know everyone is going to be nice and the games turns into a walk in the park. But then it sets you up for the people who abuse the system. Play nice for a bit, get into friendly lobbies and murder everyone with their guard down.
Also those who are in friendly lobbies must level up quicker as there's less chance of dying.
Surely just skill based matchmaking would be enough?

My group skipped playing for a week and our lobbies the last two times we played we've hardly saw anyone or even heard anyone.

Last three matches yesterday we attacked everyone and everything and those players where nothing like our normal PvP death match lobbies

I disagree. the odd rare shot in the back I can live with but if they did what you suggest I would be uninstalling. if they don't want to do pve lobbies then that is fair enough , it does keep the risk there and stop you totally relaxing .... but I really hope they don't do that either.... imo MOST people would act mostly cooperatively in such a scenario were it real life rather than go full sweaty psycho so I like that I can play it that way.
like those who have said to the pure PvE lobby players, if you don't want even the potential for PvP go play another game. I guess the same argument could be made for those who want to remove the in-game action based match making (which would then make it like the red zone in the division - a great game but that part of it was not my thing at all)

the beauty of the game as is is it can mostly be configured to be how you want it. the only thing you can't do is continually go up against soft targets and I don't have any sympathy for those who want that (not suggesting that is the case with the quoted person).
IF they could make 1 change I would say remove the ability to go out and suicide 6 times to then be put in the pve lobbies again. surely the game can give some sort of score based system to try to stop people exploiting the match making... Also let players defend themselves before being classed a pvper but ultimately some PvPers will do what ever they can to get easy kills and will try to find any exploit to do this.. but at least make it hard for them and take ages.

It's pretty obvious there is a COD player around once you start hearing flares going up left right and centre.

Once I hear this I tend to team up with a couple of players and then go and hunt said COD player down.

Well that's all the trails done.

Pretty easy this week, probably toughest was carryables but did it on Dam frost mode.

Got a really high score for Pops, Stellar night mode, over 8000.
