ArcheAge, Ultima Online's rebirth?

Sorry if I missed it but what server and faction are ocuk people joining?

From what I've seen it's considerably better to be part of a guild, rather than play alone.

It seems, apart from queues, the main problem for people was land and getting a plot to use so why wasn't this part of the game instanced ?

Anyways, decided on my PvP class and build and just hope there's room on a server to get started at some point when the doors open :p

There is still a fair bit of land, just in the pvp areas so not that safe for you when building stuff or being around there.

It's a brilliant game to be fair, haven't been this excited about a game like this in a very long time.

I dont get why you would want it to be instanced, i dont see the appeal of having a house if its instanced ala wow. The fact its in game in the game world is awesome, the problem was letting people own more than one house and making them so cheap meaning some people slapped down 4. Also forcing snapping on placement cld have saved a lot of wasted room.

WildStar also has instanced housing. I didn't see the point in it as it was so cut off from everything else, it felt pointless working on it.

I don't recall saying I wanted it instanced.

Rift - Wildstar - Lotro and other games don't seem to suffer from instanced housing so it's a viable option.

I'm not 100% knowledgeable about Archeage so I don't know if there's any advantage to having a house visible in the game world or not.

I have no ambitions of being a virtual farmer, instanced/non-instanced I'm happy either way ;)

They want it to be a non instanced world, so other than a dungeon or teleporting you don't see many loading screens at all. They would never do housing instanced either as it is what causes pvp and wars, large scale fights the lot.

lol instanced would just be trash! :p being able to put multiple houses in the same spot but just on different instances would ruin interaction between players. not to mention having to check which instance you are in every time.../ sigh

so... can't be long now until those of us who saved our money can jump on the bandwagon right?

Instanced housing is boring, I just did not care about my house in wiildstar at all. In this game you have to transport materials to the house which involves a certain amount of risk. It's brilliant.

They should have limited the amount of plots one person could have during the headstart though. I mean if I can't find anything during the headstart what are people going to do when the free to play players join.

I like housing in Wildstar just for the fact I can mine lots of ore's easily, teleport places and have a target dummy.

It's more extra utility than an actual house, I can't remember the last time I actually entered the house itself on my plot in Wildstar, couldn't care less about it.

But they are bringing in housing communites where people can put their houses together and guild plots etc. Not for some time I imagine, but it is on the "to-do list".

In-world housing or nothing! There should be a sense of achievement in getting a good spot out in the real game-world. Instanced housing is part of the everyone-should-get-everything-with-no-effort mindset that's been ruining mmos in recent years.

If you know someone who has a founders pack ask them kindly to lend you their login details and maybe you can install early ;)
