Is there any reason that has been mentioned as to why Gibbo didn't announce more Msi 3080 Trio's arriving and shipping today?

I find it really strange that there was 30 that arrived Monday and shipped, most other places had no news or hope of any stock, then bam a load of people got stock else where and OCUK also shipped more today??
He did announce it

Noones beating anyone down. Its a new generation of card, no one can fault the employees. We can fault businesses that sell products they dont have and sell items they have no availability for and up the price taking advantage of a lack of global supply due to the same global pandemic. Earning interest off of the thousands spent. So yes, people have a right to whine when theyve paid for something that was 'In Stock' or available 18th September.
Literally every retailer will take an order for something they don’t have in stock, I don’t buy that argument.

OcUK had stock... it just vanished instantly due to demand. Putting up prices is basic supply and demand, another common business strategy.

My point is people are frothing at the mouth over a graphics card which is in limited supply, in the midst of a global pandemic.

I’ve got a 32 core custom water cooled threadripper machine that I would love to compliment with a 3090 but if I can’t find anywhere in stock then I’d preorder.

The fact that people already have secured an order is good. Wait for an update from the retailer you bought it for and in the meantime stay safe and try not to contract the virus :p

At 17:00 on 17th, the TUF the queue was probably about 250-300 long. The TUF OC queue, on the other hand, was probably about 90-100 long. The quote from the other day that you are referring to related to the TUF OC queue.

You can see both positions from the graphs that @Lastof made (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1L5FsPk6ZsYzN8J2XMaAoLQPbCrjKBTiCEanh1AthKs0/edit#gid=0), which are probably the best estimate we have without official data. Obviously, you still have to take them with a big pinch of salt, given that they are based on a large number of assumptions (e.g. that every order was for a 3080) and they do not account for queue swaps, cancellations and the like.

The TUF queue was over 500 when i called on Monday with CS.

SurfXombie what makes u think you are around 100 in the Q ?

mine ordered 16:45 launch day ,

btw can i please have a quick recap what we know after today? been grafting all afternoon, too knackered to check 100 pages now ;(

best regards
Well, the mods have been on fire because someone noticed a competitor had both 80 and 90 stock today and posted on the Forum (ventus/trio). This prompted lots of activity which was deleted and continues to be deleted at the mere hint. Apart from that no movement from OC on anything other than confirming queue swaps cease tomorrow.

...

Well it was down to this post below

For what it’s worth, I ordered the ASUS TUF OC 3080 on the 17th at 21:40 ish U.K. time, order no 586820*
I was informed today on the phone that I am approximately between 100 and 120 on the list, But the list is very fluid at the moment with cancellations etc, and they are working on trying to put a list together that will be emailed to people or put on the forum to give folks an idea of their position... hope that helps.

I then worked out their position on the unofficial queue and kind of just applied that to mine. But if a 21:40 order is 120 then we would be somewhat less.

Only I now see that is for the OC so... who knows.. back to banging head on desk!!

Sorry @Four_G I got it wrong :(

Lmao the title has now changed to
*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION *** - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION
people clearly aren't taking the hint with the posts being removed

Seems only a few people read the rules around here lol
It's like a microcosm then, with the world situation. I don't think there's been a truly new comment on this thread for a while now, think it might be time to stop flogging the horse now. We'll all get our cards as they arrive, if you don't like that then feel free to shorten the queue for the rest of us and quit whining about it.

FYI, I don’t sleep so anyone trying to post anything at 3am is going to be in for a rude awakening :D

Somehow I feel this horse is going to be flogged for a while longer.

Do they really expect people to respect that rule (no discussion about competitors) with the farce of a launch this has been. Under normal circumstances, fair enough, but they brought this upon themselves.
Yes. You agreed to such on signing up.

This isn’t the first time there’s been a launch with limited supply and it won’t be the last. As such, the rules don’t bend to suit the situation we have to apply them equally.

Nothing wrong with saying you’ve just ordered or you’ve got a delivery but posting links and/or mentioning (even hinting) at competitors is against the rules.

Let’s not forget they pay for the upkeep of the forums and as such, you have to respect their decision to look after their business interests.

Contact the shop if you want an order update. I can’t make this any clearer.

Where? All I see was the Announcement for Monday, they came and went same day.

Then today, all of a sudden mine shipped This afternoon.
He announced monday that they were arriving yesterday, thats the batch people were receiving today. Unsure about yours shipping today though

A more important question is will the deliverys now feature the bracket , "Fixed" because all i can see atm from board manufactures and nvidia themselves is there will now be a certain amount (possibly a whole product line ) of certain gpus which will not perform the same as there namesake.

And as such is it fair to ask the same amount for said gpu? Will future for example tuf cards come with a £*** rebate because it is the lesser version?

I just heard someone who ordered a x trio 3090 for delivery tomorrow had a security phone call today. Apparently they had 400 msi cards in stock this morning. With oc getting a few every few days it seems only MSI are shipping cards?

Yeah myself and a few others shipped today, when as far as we was aware there was nothing due in. I have a sneaky feeling they had a few saved for pre-builds but decided to get them out quick to save any cancellations due to the stock received at X competitor.

That's just me spit balling of course.

There really isn't a problem there, drivers have fixed the crashing and performance really isn't any different. Some say they've got better performance with those drivers (more stable clocks), some say they lost a little bit of performance, but any performance promised here is well within the non-guaranteed boost performance, and probably depends more on silicon quality than anything else anyway.

Ah, dang, no worries. I'm still hopeful our queue positions are decent...

From what i've been hearing the zotac kind of sucks.... Here's hoping they fix the issues before Christmas, which is when i'll probably be getting my card (unofficial queue position 112. ordered at 15:29 on launch day)

At least I'll have a 5 year warranty.

Hi guys do you know if there is a thread for AIB warranty length for the 30 series cards and I suppose graphics cards in general? I'm just curious to find out who offers what.

Thanks.
