Arctic Freezer II - product alert

I didn't bother with replacing the two short screws with the longer ones. I just felt as the unit was fine without those longer screws then it would still be fine with putting them back. Perhaps not a valid concern but I didn't want to risk cross threading or experience any other issues.

Yeh my ears could hear it some how and was annoying, I've got two noctua 140mm 3000 rpm fans on top of case blowing in so it's not needed.
Hmm, so how did you disconnect it? I've considered changing the rad fans in the past but noticed their connectors disappearing off into the hoses and decided against it...

From what little I understand that little fan is only for cooling of the VRM's and, iirc, it does a pretty decent job that was noted in a review of the cooler I once watched. But it was mentioned in the review that typically VRM's are running within their design spec and as long as that is the case having them any cooler doesn't make much of a difference.

The lead for the rad fans, well the connector, can be seen entering into the hose towards the top corner near the rad. All three of my fans are daisy chained to that single connector. The fans seem fine for me and my 420mm rad.

I do not notice any noise from that little fan, then again I have the case side on and it is not sat that close to me.

Quick update: Just had a good check around my rig (closed case) and one week on, I'm leak free. I'm pretty sure my temps are down too but that might be a coincidence - the weather has changed, I used fresh paste and topped the coolant up. I'm happy anyway, thanks Arctic, great vendor!
