Arctic Freezer II - product alert

Got mine.

For some reason the postie thought it best to hide it behind my recycle bin instead of using the letterbox.

Not sure when it was delivered as i last moved the bin on Wednesday and was not carded to say it was there. :confused:

Requested my service kit this evening. I don't fully understand the issue, if affected and left unchecked is it bad news?

If you have one of the poorly vulcanised rubber gromets then over time it will disolve into the liquid and could clog it up and/or leak.

I got my kit in the post this morning so will open mine up and see what it it looks like inside and obviously swap the gaskets.

One thing I will be doing when I fit the kit is disconnect that fan on the pump because when I just surf the net I turn all my fans down as I don't need them running so fast I can hear that fan and it annoys me.

Fitted the kit tonight, not too bad if you set everything out. I couldn't see anything wrong with the grommet that was in it,
I rubbed it on some tissue and ran a cotton wool bud over it, no evidence of any black bits or any signs of deterioration.
The same with the copper head, all looked good to me. Still, I'm reassured it's not going to degrade now.

I've got one of these, how do I check if mine is an affected model?

Take a look here....

and at the bottom of that page you will find a section where you can enter details about your own purchase to see if it could be affected and then order a repair kit if it is.

@ODuffer snap :D

My kit arrived today, will do the mod if i notice any degredation. My cooler was outside the affected window but advised to obtain the kit anyway.
