It is rather more to the point that the British Empire (Like all empires really) was one of consent.
India submitted to British rule for as long as they were content to do so. Once they were no longer willing to do so we had nowhere near the necessary resources, ether militarily or economically, to have any real influence on how things developed.
With the best will in the world, division of British troops was never really going to be able to do anything to prevent millions of people from trying to kill one another once they had set their minds to the task.
I like the revisionist history you are spouting - Britain literally killed anyone who tried to oppose the British rule. do you really think anyone really 'likes' being ruled.. there's a really good twitter account @crimesofbrits.. do go over and see what Britain did to try to keep its control! it was only because of WW1 and 2 that your resources diminished so you had to let go of all these countries.
