Are scars cool?

Some are yes!
Scars are cool if they've got a story that'll make everyone stop and listen.

I've got 2 scars on the back of my head; one from jumping on an inflatable chair and cracking my head against a wall, another from falling off my bike, both when I was young, so not exactly cool. :p

i only have little scars from friction burns from sliding down the track after crashing my race bike... thats it really.

my mate has one which pulls the birds as it goes across his cheek from his eye straight down about half way. he loves it lol.

I got a lovely scar upside my head

Around 4 inches

Car crash

Glass wedged into head = Bad.

edit: oh and it makes me look alpha

I thought I would take a pic of mine seeing as a few others have.

I am not that conscious of it, however when out on a night or shopping I usually take the change with my right, unscarred hand

How you manage that one then m8?

Ive got a big scar (its fading) from when I was working in a cafe carrying a huge pot of soup, I wobbled a tad causing a little to go over my finger... I went to put it down and it poured all over my forearm. It had just been boiled, so as you can imagine was boiling hot.

That scar covered up a previous scar on my forearm from a backyard wrestling match I had a while back from barbed wire. and another barbed wire scar on my back from taking a suplex onto barbed wire :)

I did post earlier in the thread (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9547479&postcount=7) but didn't post a picture.

I was just less than one year old and decided to play with the iron. My mother blames herself but the iron was unplugged and up out of normal reach. I don't blame her at all.

However, as the iron had just been used it was still red hot.

The only thing we can think happened was that I pulled the cord and the iron landed on my hand.

I had to go around for months with a plastic bag full of anti-septic cream tied to my wrist and daily visits to the burns ward at hospital.

The original scar was tiny and the doctors said it would not grow in size, however they were wrong.

The scar tissue is quite tight and 9years ago (when I was 11) I had an operation to cut the skin to make it loose. imo the operation was a failure as I didn't notice much of a difference and it's still tight and pulls my finger in slightly today.

I have very few scars and I don't see them as cool, more of a reminder of what not to do.

Scar of middle finger of left hand = don't play with knives
Scar on forhead = don't scratch when you get chicken pox (not much use for future reference that one)
Hernia op scar = don't put up resistance when being born (again, probably not much use now)
Scar on knuckle of little finger = warning. gf might have put a knife blade up in a cup, for some reason....
Scar on knee = don't fall down rock faces

All usefull reminders for everyday life :p

Damn...

Scars are definitely cool, as long as you have a cool story to back them up.

I have a scar on my hand, but the story is definitely not cool. I skiied over my own hand... :o

I've got a couple of good sized scars.

30" scar going across my back from left shoulder to right hip, from a back op when i was a kid. Might have another one to add to it soon.

12" scar on my chest from a heart op 4 years ago, had another one in the same place before that.

6" scar on my left side from another heart op when i was a baby.

I've also got the normal scrapes and bumps you get from being a kid and doing stupid stuff.

Oh, I forgot one... 'x' shaped one on my little finger when one of my dogs bit me (alsation) nearly had my finger off.

Tesla's Beadle hand wins.

a quick rundown of mine:

- left ring fingertip where it was lopped off and reattached
- cross brand on the back of my left hand
- triangular chunk taken out of the back of my left hand by a cousin with a spade
- biopsy scar on right ring finger
- scarred knuckles on both hands
- left arm: pockmarked from a hot oil/cold water incident
- right arm: gouged my forearm slipping on cobbles and scraping it down the corner of a brick wall
- emergency traecheotomy scars (got stung by a wasp)
- emergency appendectomy scars (it sploded)
- thousands of 'playing' scars ranging from a few mm to about 12"
- two rows of scars on my willy from having my beads implanted
- 6" scar on my right knee (fell on a plank with a giant nail in it)

*n

Scars are not cool, imo. They look dirty and pretty terrible.

Unfortunately I have a small one on my shoulder blade though, after the surgical removal of a small blood clot.
