Are you doing anything with Hue?

Thinking about lighting up my new tv stand (put LED strips in). Is it worth taking the plunge into hue? or should i just buy some bog standard ones that I can plug in the socket where i turn all my non permanent on AV stuff. so it's only on when i'm watching tv?

Create a scene called "sexy time", dim the lights and set to pink etc. Combined with " Hey Siri, set Sexy time", this should definitely win her over :D

Got a lightstrip yesterday to try, tried it behind the computer desk and mounted on the rear of the TV. TV won, but will by a 2nd for the desk next month.

This is getting expensive now :p

Played around getting the light to change with the picture on screen (Kodi add on), to be honest it's a little distracting. I'm going to have a go writing a script to dim/un-dim the lightstrip when entering playback or pausing. I've had a play with the API already and it's pretty straight forward to use.

Sorry I meant to say £50 off. I bought a set with bayonet bulbs....then double checked the light fittings I wanted to use it with and I needed screw fixings :o

Didn't pull the trigger in the end ... we have a lot of lights which are Small Edison Screw which I think are too small for Hue ones to fit in to.

Just spent a fortune on these. Rewire finishes friday so cant wait to try them out.

9 x white
3 x colour starter pack. Rainforest day special
1 x colour. Rainforest day special
2 x bloom
1 x dimmer switch

P.s. 4 for 3 offer is currently on the above at certain diy store.

I've just bought 4 Iris lamps from B&Q who have a 4 bulbs for 3 offer which includes these! Just need to source a bridge as the Iris lamps don't even have a remote!

Yeah the £50 off the starter pack on Prime Day was a great deal! There were great deals on the light strips and Hue Go too. I took advantage :)

Just a shame it was limited to one per person!

Will Homekit do the same thing as Smartthings with regards to the motion sensors? I like the sound of that!
