Are you going bald?

The thing which I've never really understood, when men get really depressed about losing their hair is that almost every other man (and in my experience most women) couldn't care less if a bloke is bald.

I suppose because I'm not in the position of going completely bald, possibly at a 'young' age - I'm not in a position to comment.

I don't know. If I see a bald fella I don't think oh my god he's bald, anymore than I think oh my god he's got blue eyes.

I have a receding hair line and it's starting to thin out on top (near the crown). I'm only 22 and to be honest, don't really care.

My only issue is I want it to happen fast or very slowly. That is because if it goes fast I will just shave my head. If it goes really slowly then I don't have to deal having an awkward comb over for a while.

Nope, it looks quite good on most guys. Then there's the guys with weird shaped skulls or dents in their heads that does make it look ... interesting :p

I used to have my head shaved to a 2 all over when I was about 11 to 14, I have to be fair got quite a large head and got called a bean head haha.

I will probably end up looking like the brain out of pinky and the brain.

Another funny things is. Most of these guys caring about hairloss, and posting pictures asking 'How bad is it?', are overweight, dress like slobs and have no muscle definition to speak of. I'm not saying that's a problem, but surely fixing the things you CAN fix would make you feel/look better. Let's be honest, his fame aside, very few women are going to turn Jason Statham down.

Yep! Going Bald Gracefully and I don't care!! My Dad is a Bald as a Koot so I'm not fussed!!

At least being a Silver/Blond, any meantime Grayness won't be noticed easily!! :D

Yes I'm balding, I know what's caused it and I don't care. I shave my head anyway as I'm a skin head and have been for years so it doesn't bother me.

My hair started to develop a mind of its own a few years ago and what used to grow straight and true grew sideways and would never do what it ws told. So I went voluntarily bald (or close enough), and now I just wash and go.
I think having more hair was depressing :)

What you've found on that forum is consistent with what you'd expect with body dysmorphic disorder.

Some responses in this thread are typical of the reasons male sufferers give for not seeking psychological help for mental illnesses tbh.

No, although weirdly I did have a bald patch appear, literally a round bald patch that looks well out of place, in the middle of the back of my head, when I split up with my ex, was alopecia, I had some cream from the doctors which when applied for a good few weeks, the hair came back.

those that really worry about it tend to be deeply shallow people who have gone through life with nothing more than their looks. When thats all you have, it tends to mean a lot more when your hair goes.

I shaved my head from age 20 and back then i had a full head of hair..Ive since tried growing it back and discovered i have a bald crown now. So it all came off again. Couldn't really care less about it. Having no hair is much more convenient and not only have i never had a negative comment from a girl, I've had huge amounts of fondling and touching from the opposite sex as a result of the shaven dome.

In asia where nearly nobody shaves their head, I've had girls tell me they wanna see what i look like with hair..but never anything actually negative.

I have receded to the other side of the planet, I'm twenty two, and I hate it. But, I know there's nothing I can do about it... Except get shredded and wear a hat.

Having a hairline like that at twenty two... :(

When did you start receding out of interest?

At least you have a normal sized/shaped head by the looks of it lol.
