Are you obese?

Especially their premium economy class flights..

Oh you lot are talking about that other BMI... (the dreaded dots)

I thought BMI was a good airline..? Must be mistaken..

According to the BMI rubbish my mate at work is Obese on the border of seriously killing himself. Hes 5ft 10" and 16 stone.. Built like a brick out house too.. Looks and seems healthy to me..

That has nothing to do with it
it is to do with the fact your heart is only designed to pump blood around a cirtain sized frame.
Anything over this puts preasure on it clearly if you do a lot of cardio work your heart will be stronger.

I have thick skin on my stomach and always have, Its going to get as toned as it can soon but i doubt ill ever get a full 6 pack due to the thickness of my skin

Haha, that is genius, I've never heard that one before - I've heard "I'm big boned", "I'm cuddly" and "it's water retention" but "I've got thick skin" :D

I'll believe you, millions wouldn't ;) :)

As for myself I'm just at the lighter end of healthy according to the BMI rating but then I know that from looking at myself.

I'm 5'5" and 9 and a half stones. I think I'm in the "on weight" band but more towards the overweight, Ideally I would like to loose 1 stone by the end of this uni year.

Everyone or just people who dont want to admit they need to lay off the pies? :p

I'm 6 foot, weigh 10 stone and I still think BMI is a bit dumb. I think the OP highlights that it isn't exactly an accurate representation.

Another one for the obese club:

5'9" & 16st
Your BMI is 33.07868

Could stand to lose a bit, but there is a decent amount of muscle under there too.

im like 6 foot 4, and weight probably 15st.

not entirely sure.
but i dont look massive just well built.

5'6 and just under 9st = OK

which is weird as when my body fat was assessed they recommended I lose 5-10lbs which would put me at severely underweight for BMI. If I lost 10lbs I would be very sick looking I think.

Also they don't take into account frame. I have huge norks, and if they were normal sized I think you could take a few pounds off the weight.

Bah.. what do they know, I feel healthy and that's the best judge.
You know your own body best.

6'1 and 20st.
I agree with the BMI scale that I am grossly overweight.
Apparently I need to lose 4 stone before I am in the "normal" range.

Excuses aside, I eat crap and don't exercise. Hardly a surprise that I'm obese.
Trouble is that I find it incredibly difficult to eat properly or find time to do any kind of activity.
I do plan to sort it out, just not sure how...

Ouch, I'm the same height and you've got 7 and a half stone on me!!

Nope... apparently at 13 stone and 6"3" i am the ideal weight for my height :D and i thought i was getting fat.
