Area 51

Didn't they develop the SR-71, the stealth bomber and other planes there?

It's secret because they don't want the technology they're developing to be known to their enemies. The UFO thing could be true, I don't know so I can't say for certain. It does however play into the hands of the USA in terms that it's a handy cover up story and leads to many conspiracies.

I remember watching a documentary once, where many locals thought the stealth bomber was an alien craft because of its strange shape.

My dad lives in Mildenhall, the place the SR71 was based in the UK :D

I haven't read the entire thread, so not sure if anyone has commented, but is it not true that Area 51 was officially closed down? I remember seeing a documentary on TV, all the research etc has apparently been moved to a 'new' location. May be wrong however!

I actually have a feeling that all the mystery surrounding Area 51 does the government a favour, while all the workers there dress up as aliens to distract people, they actually test all their top secret weapons etc miles away! probably in areas 1-50.

Oh and I do believe in extra terrestrials but I doubt they've travelled the vast gulf of space and then crashed into a hill in America.

Alien 1: "When was this thing last serviced?"

Alien 2: "You were supposed to get that sorted, the brakes need new pads"

Alien 1: "LOOK OUT..............PLANET!!!!!! !"

......I doubt it somehow :)

nope, ufo's are advanced aircraft and/or naturall phanomina. Some have been proved as natural phanomina. whilst there are blueprints of flying saucers that USA designed in the 70's...

Modern warfare equipment is so out of date by what they are testing. But why bring new stuff out when its not needed. Also ailens is the best cover story ever. Oh look its an alien ah well no one will think its a new super plane with uncovential engines, that well use if WW3 errupts.

Perhaps becasue only the SAS could fight a war with an arsenal they had been introduced to yesterday, leaving most units in Her Majesty's Armed Forces slightly under-prepared

"I, I don't have a whole lot of time. Um, OK, I'm a former employee of Area 51. I, I was let go on a medical discharge about a week ago and, and... [chokes] I've kind of been running across the country. Damn, I don't know where to start, they're, they're gonna, um, they'll triangulate on this position really soon.

OK, um, um, OK, what we're thinking of as, as aliens, they're extradimensional beings, that, an earlier precursor of the, um, space program they made contact with. They are not what they claim to be. Uh, they've infiltrated a, a lot of aspects of, of, of the military establishment, particularly the Area 51.

The disasters that are coming, they, the military, I'm sorry, the government knows about them. And there's a lot of safe areas in this world that they could begin moving the population to now. They are not! They want those major population centers wiped out so that the few that are left will be more easily controllable."

I would have thought that Blackbird could take the photos and send them immediately over an encrypted signal.

Wasn't capable - it had a connection to a groundstation whenever it was in range - but that was just for the data collected by the Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar - had a range of around 300 miles.

It was kitted out with all film cameras at it's time or retirement although digital had been expierimented with - megapixel electro-optic sensor backplane bolted onto the back of the Boeing Camera on board the aircraft.

Having seen some shots taken by Blackbird of Mildenhall *although they were scaled down to hide what it was really capable of* you can easily make out car models and colours. God knows what you can see at full res. Golfballs at 85'000ft has been rumoured.

Hahahahahahah

It seems we have come full circle Mr Poole...

The United States Air Force retired its fleet of SR-71s on January 26, 1990, allegedly because of a decreasing defense budget and high costs of operation. The USAF returned the SR-71 to the active Air Force inventory in 1995 and began flying operational missions in January 1997. The planes were permanently retired in 1998.

Nah, he's taking the wizz.
However, theres a rumour that the worlds most powerfullest computer has been built at Area 51 just to work out the hidden messages in the new Tool album :D

are UN weapons inspecters allowed in there, would be abit hypocritical if not.

Wepaons inspectors look for weapons that people aren't allowed to have. One of the conditions of the first gulf war's ending was that Iraq did not develop nuclear weapons. The U.S aren't under any sort of sanction from anyone in terms of weaponry thus there is no need for anyone to inspect them.
