Area 51

I'm sure there's some interesting stuff going on in there, but I doubt it's anything to do with aliens. Whenever some random person sees something from there, they automatically assume it's alien technology because there's nothing else like it in public knowledge. I don't think they give the human race the credit they deserve.

they probably use it develop super-sonic spy planes
like this one?

From 1962.

It's a testing facility, black projects. It's where the first super sonic USAF aircraft, Long range nuke bombers, and the radar reducing technology of the blackbird etc were all tested. Most of the contractors based at area 51 are aviation or ammunitions based.

Some have said it because this is where they develop nukes, so the security has to be the best (terrorists etc) but this isn't true as thier is various testing facilitys based round the US and just like the UK thier nuke ammunition storage is not that well defended (ie on the scale of Area 51) some being based near cities (just like the UK)

The nuke testing ground are just over the hill not that far away but what is the security there like, i'd imagine just as tight, maybe another reason??

As for UFO's yes there are but they are known about at some level, as we (western world developed them!)

Saying that many astronauts have stated they have seen things in space that to them are ufo's/iteligent lifeforms...

Question is why is Area 51 such a big Underground facility? Is it just in case someone like in the olden days ie russia stuck them they could continue or is there another reason? I mean Iran has huge underground testing facilitys...

Anyways people have always said there is other Area 51's that are not as well known, but no one really cares about them.. so again this brings back the question why such the hysteria about Area 51? lol

Was the SR-71 developed there then. I think its just a place where they test ulta secret aircraft and etc. It also has the longest runway in the world AFAIK.

Skunk Works was in Burbank, California. It's now in Glendale, California. IT's NEVER been anywhere near Groom Lake, Nevada......

Sorry to get picky, but that would be like saying that the London tube is in Glasgow......

Lockheed is THE contractor for whom the Groom Lake base was founded. The Lockheed Skunkworks has produced most of the secret aircraft tested at Area 51, and Lockheed-Martin is now a major service provider on the Nellis Range.

They have a base there and from looking into it further it has been expanded in recent years..

I wonder what would happen if a few thousand or more people just walked in and demanded to be allowed access saying the public has a right to know, if enough really wanted to then anything is possible.

I remember watching a program about it as well that said something along the lines of, the forces exerted on the seals during flight were so great that the seals had to be loose when the plane was at rest, meaning it leaked loads of fluid when stationary. Maybe someone else can make more sense of that :p

Shot or detained under terrorism laws possibly. Might have worked before 911. but now they have the power to pretty much do what they like to defend stratigic locations... all in the name of Homeland Security..

The seals expanded at altitude so when the plane was on the gorund the seals contracted and left gaps, and so all the fluids leaked out. :)

Yes, the skin of the aircraft is too small when it's cold and all the panels don't line up properly, therefore it leaks the JP7 fuel like a seive. What they normally do is take off, rag it about a bit to warm it up and then in-flight refuel.

JP7 has a very high flash point so it doesn't cause too much of a fire risk.
