Ark: Survival Evolved - Dinosaur MMO/Survival PVP funz!

About 15 people including 3-4 people that joined in the past couple of days and most of us except the 3-4 newbies are about 50+

hey chaps, im looking at getting this game, it looks really cool and ive never owned/played a game like this.

i normally play FPS and RTS as well as a few RPG's.

how do these games work? is it a case or running around getting resources, making some friends and then build a base and get dino's?
also whats it like to run? optimized? i have a [email protected] with a 970 g1@1539

This is the situation as it stands for Tony, Josh, Spuddy and anyone else looking to join, if you take a screenshot of your current level we can make sure you're boosted up to that level when you join the server, as for joining the tribe, well as it stands the current base is being upgraded but it's still too small so we were in the process of scouting out a new location so we can have another base else where on the map to take advantage of resources while at the same time having a backup.

With this in mind we propose this, you're free to join us but we will required to build a new base because as it stands we've literally no space.
You'll have full access to dino's and materials not to mention us lot will be helping as well and everyone will be free to go from one base to another, we're all quite active so this shouldn't take long.
Right now if you guys decide to join us we'll be taming dino's tonight so we can make things a little easier.
If there's anything you'd like to discuss or speak to us about feel free to hop on our ts (which you'll have full access to as well) as we'd like to make this as easy as possible for you guys.

thanks Ice mate...will see how this pans out at the moment, we've put so much hard work into our server, Rich and Steve have been awesome and we've picked up a few new members today that seem keen. I don't mind being raider, attacked etc part of the fun, and love getting revenge, but where we are small number clan, it seems we dont have a big enough force to defend, attack or gather mats quick enough after we get attacked.

Will see how the new blood pans out, the server is excellent, many big tribes on the island and chat is always a right laugh. Plus have lots of high level dinos we've tamed.

The CPU is fine and with it looking like crap it probably will be playable lol

I believe there are 2 groups playing on 2 servers mate. We (TheNewBreed) are playing on Official EU-PvP 177, we have a few OCUK'ers and some others. About 7 in total I think. Being on an official server theres always lots of people and random encounters but potential of grieving as anyone is one there.

ICE has a private server which is a lot more customisable and as privately admined less griefing I expect but smaller numbers on server.

Personally mate I'd buy it from steam then if you don't like it (I'm sure you will though) you can get a refund.

Iirc the keys are ~£17 and steam is ~£19 so for the sake of £2 it's worth it I think.

Look forward to seeing you that's if you don't join ices server that is.

Yup spot on! There are less people but it does allow more freedom but at the moment this servers tense as there's about 3 large tribes all ready to go to war, just waiting on one person to spark it right now lol.
 
managed to get 20-30 mins here and there between the kids and jobs, need to sink some real time in to it.

A few issues with dodo's and dino's either sliding away when killed to transporting back and forth when attacking them.

And finding you way round can be a little bit of a pain without map markers etc. I imagine it won't be long before someone develops a Just Cause 2 style map for it that tracks things.

On the plus side, i've logged out and back in twice now and i've not been killed by something, and met some nice guy that gave me a load of things. Ultima and Eve taught me to be a little dubious o new folk ;)

I think that might have been one of our guys, I know we've been dropping things for low level new comers.

Edit: It was Griff from our tribe, I did spot you on the beach yesterday but was just helping another new start get started as well.
If I see you on tonight I'll get some hide armour and steel tools for ya :)

I AM NOT F - ING IMPRESSED

Just logged on, for some reason my character was moved from the secure 2nd level of our base, was downstairs outside them main base but inside our walls. No damage what so ever to the actual base as no walls been destroyed...yet my body is now missing all my died armour, sniper rifle, shotgun, ammo, metal tools. I'm flipping fuming. Who moved my body? obviously was not done in a raid because all the walls are standing, all our dinos are still there etc. :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

And did anyone kill my dino Razor last night?

Is there a chance someone left the doors open and then logged off? Could have been a random who just took what they needed, either that or start looking at the new people that joined you if you trust the others.
 
What's more than likely happened is that you have fallen through the floor. Is a well known bug and was happening to me and tribe mates quite a bit. We use logout boxes which we put all our stuff in now. Just so as to not lose gear if we die

Yeah but his dino was killed as well.

That being said if that dino was killed at a different time then yeah it probably is that bug.
