we need the server to be password protected.
Thats strange? i thought we all had an agreement that it will be password protected not locked?
I don't think it was agreed, more that most people think it is a good idea, but the final decision is down to L33 as he controls the server.
To be honest we all thought it was a good idea to put the TS address on the server, but that came back to bite us yesterday when a couple of idiots came on and started playing music, singing and insulting shadowze.
Anyway, that is probably the longest I have ever spent sat playing one game, normally I don't have the concetration, but it is just so much fun as a team. And, even though it was only about my second time playing the game, I was still in the top 5/6 on the leaderboard. Anyone who says the controls are too difficult is wrong.
Joined one of the OCUK servers for a short time yesterday.
Didn't have a clue what the hell I was doing.
I ran hither and then thither and then in a few circles.
Saw a few people standing around. They didn't shoot at me so I assume they were on my team.
Got into a helicopter and the pilot took one look at me and bailed.
Drove a lorry into some woods and felt all alone.
Looked at some pretty symbols on the map.
Shot at an airplane passing overhead with my pistol but it didn't crash.
Ran across an airfield and had a lot of people stare at me.
Reported myself injured but received no reaction from anyone.
Ran a bit more.
Exited.
I've been playing the past few nights and have been enjoying it. Except when Shadow was shouting at me because I was driving around in an APC that happened to be the MHQ lol.
Might I suggest the setting up of a Ocuk Arma 2 clan. I had the idea that we could have several different sections:
HQ
Fireteams
- A
- B etc
Airsupport
Tanks and other vechiles
If we had enough people in the clan it could work and that way each person knew what they could do and what others were able to do. Setting up a website and forum wouldn't be too hard either. Just a thought.
L33 if you want to discuss this, add me to msn (in trust)

pointless. lets just stick to this clan as it will just split this one up and wont have a high player count that we have for this clan now. i can come on any evening and expect some of you to be on but if we split the clan up the chances of me joining in a near full server with you guys is slim as not everyone plays this game to death
Unfortunately there are so many game-ruining people that purposely come on and do stupid stuff like moving the MHQs into combat areas, shooting down our choppers and destroying bases etc that its a second reaction to go nuts at someone as soon they move the MHQ, so apologies if this has happened to anyone by mistake, its not personalExcept when Shadow was shouting at me because I was driving around in an APC that happened to be the MHQ lol.
I havent had chance to read all the new posts but just to update/reply a few things:

Because it is more realistic. Look at the coordinates on your GPS and its pretty easy to tell where you are give or take a few metres. Why can't you see where you are on the map?
Not a problem. I didn't know it was the MHQ but do now
Any comment about my idea about a clan and more structured appoarch to teams?

my opinion anyway.
Well most nights the TS server has around 20-25 people playing each night which is at least a start

Couple of Squads right there.
split those regulars over 3-4 squads and let the pubs fill the odd gaps. Means we have the wealth of experience spread over the entire team.
