Arma 2 multiplayer arranging thread

Awesome stuff last night, although I am really getting annoyed with my GTX295 performance issues and hope a patch/drivers get released pretty pronto.

I am thinking though that we should move on to scenario-based missions like the sort of thing shack tactical get up to. Perhaps we could have a go at that airborne drop mission that they go on about if there is an arma2 version of it out anytime soon.

There was tons of teamwork.
Huge squads moving through towns clearing them, covering eachother
Chopper pilots ferrying us back and forth
Hammer moving around MHQs and collecting wrecks
Gord and sarcasm taking out armour in the chopper while ground crew lazed targets
I remember on several occasions people attracting APC fire so that others could get into position to hit them with rockets
Choppers dropping ammo crates when we asked
Medics last night were awesome, I had to call on one 3 times and never waited more than a minute
etc etc
 
My fave loadout atm is:

DMR of win
Smaw of pwn

3 smaw missles
1 S' charge
1 Random colour smoke
rest ammo for dmr

I mix that up with a m4 vairiant if im in a town on urban patrol. Ranged is always DMR.

If there is no armor i switch to a saw with the scope for pwnage of troops at range and close... Post up on a running target and fire so they run thro the bullet rope of hurt (like paintball :D)
 
Was having fun tonight until I got kicked :(. Don't know why people thought I was still in the MHQ, maybe it was lag or something, but oh well, sorry.
 
nice game tonight lads :) I'd prefer more infantry on maps and less armour, but that's just my preference. Although it is satisfying to SMAW./jav tanks and BMPs...
 
really good games tonight, I am finally getting to grips with this game. GG all who played. Hats off to Gord and Sarcasms indestructable tank too :)
 
Im still ****ed at that AA while domination...It kept killing me whil I was trying to lift the harrier wreck....I placed 6 satchels near it, and as I wrote "BIG ****!!!", I wanted to pull the trigger...but nooooooo, the domination mission ended successfully...:mad:


Anyways, good game...I will find some AI to rape off:D

oh and btw...NOOBS pls get off the wreckable choppers/planes! I´m tired of picking them up and bring it to base just to find out another idiot takes it and wrecks it -.-

right, you lot have got me enthralled in this lol. Might get it when parts for new rig arrive tomorrow =D

one question: Being a pilot sounds really cool, but is it extremely difficult?
 
Hammer has a point, who took the frikkin repaired chopper and crashed it? Think it was someone who snuck in whilst the server was unlocked. Good game, the last one was good until I realised we only had three choppers with no respawn and two were killed by AAA nowehere frikkin near the first target. Funny.

Might have been a bug unfortunately. It still said you were driving and when we kicked you we were able to move it.. :confused: Sorry chap.

GG again guys. My highlight tonight was Sarcasm driving the M1A1 through a forest to clear a path for my armour support convoy! Lucky there wernt any tree huggin hippies! God damn hippies!

gotcha sir!

i'll probably practice in the editor mode first lol, but I just watched a couple of videos on youtube of multiplayer action, and it looks as if it's impossible to see the enemy without some sort of scope/ACOG attachment...unless OCUK play CQB games?

the key to being a pilot is... practice on single player 1st! :) if you go down with a squad load of us in the back we won't be happy :mad:

yeh it is pretty hard to spot the enemy from a distance but as you say you can always make sure you have an ACOG sight, but when you move into a village etc it gets a bit better. There a definitely a lot of 'Where the hell is that coming from?!' moments as you hear rounds crack past your head or kick up dirt near by.

Take your time...If you need help, we will be available for lifting ;)

Its not that hard to check out where enemy is...
Just remember to check the targets via pressing the SPACE BAR ...

there are infantry squads, so yes,...CQB action^^

Im mostly in the background, bringing noobs chopper/plane wrecks back to base and repair, or lift the infantry to the marked LZ and EVAC them..

I can imagine myself now, seeing bullets whiz past my head, diving into prone to avoid being hit, and waiting for a good few minutes so the enemy looks elsewhere lol.

In the military, the background soldiers are normally the unsung heroes, the medics, the pilots, etc. Im sure you do a fantastic job =)
