Arma 2 multiplayer arranging thread

Be aware there are some bugs which can make life difficult

examples:
Waaaaa , waaaaa , My team leader is not giving me orders
reason:
WHen the team leader gets killed sometimes the leadership then goes the next man in the group ,
if he is smart when the leader e-spawns he can use a menu option to return control back to the proper person (NO ONE SEEMS TO DO THIS)


I got kicked for moving the MHQ(LKW)
reason: The message when you connect to the server tells you DONT MOVE THE MHQ ,
and if the logged in admin tells you to get out of the MHQ several times in text chat (cos you are to retarded to use teamspeak) because he
need to move the mhq away from the treees its currently near so a chopper can pick it up.
DONT BE SUPRISED IF YOU GET KICKED

I dont class my self as an 'elite' player, as you put it, but I do know how to act in the game to not peeve people off and work as a team.

I help people all the time on TS when im playing, people just have to ask.

But if your new to the game, you shouldnt be learning how to fly in mp anyway, do the tutorials they cover everything

You did group newbs and ####'s in the same sentence, so it did sound like you were having a moan about both being as bad as each other.

I have learnt to fly a helicopter really well but I still dont attempt to fly one in multiplayer as from above I am useless with the map. All I do in game is try and follow people around but when we get to the place im not even sure what we are supposed to be doing.

I have installed TS so I can hear people but I cant talk on it as other people are asleep at that time. Im sure with being able to listen to TS I will be able to grasp a better understanding of what im supposed to do.

I might just select medic in the meantime and just try and support people, firing the odd shot off. Knowing about the space button will help tho. That is definately tip of the day.

I just wish the manual that came with the game was bigger and more detailed. Are there any game guides out there yet?
 
Had a really good game last night, some great teamwork by those of us on TS. The TK'ers at the spawn and noobs taking/destroying all the high value assets like the A-10 was a bit of a pain, but overall I really enjoyed it.

I'll certainly be on again tonight.
 
I wasnt having fun with the Harrier last night. Trying to pinpoint the perfect distance to speed up to as you land and still make the bottom turn for the jet service.. not got it quite right yet.. :(
 
hi guys i'll be getting this game soon...joined the forum and the steam group,i'll join the ts server when i get online..u guys have intrigued me with the banter regarding the gameplay...so see you soon:)

Sorry Luke, it was a mistake. Where u were was full of enemy moments before., the cannon u were at was moving before i rolled round a tree, u popped up and blam..
 
ok so just sorted out teamspeak. Still dont have a gaming mic (only an sm58 which would be a complete pain to set up for gaming), so can any of you reccomend a good headset or whatever you use - ideally pretty cheap, fairly clear sound and comfortable.

I could search for some but it would be good to see if theres a particular model you all recommend?!

Put this fieldcraft guide together a few years ago, for Aircadet training/Airsoft and thought I'd share it incase anyone fancies employing some real life fieldcraft techniques in ArmA. It's pretty out of date now and many drills have changed but it'll do.

Obviously some of it isn't relevant to a game, but I hope some of it might be useful.

What is it with the trees?

No matter what, as soon as I look at a bunch of trees, the FPS goes right down. I've tried lowering all the settings to low, makes no difference.

I've got a Q9550 at 3.4GHz, 4GB of RAM and a 4870.
 
lads is your server a 30 slot server?if so how many regulars fill it on average,and how many non known public players make up the rest?

and how many of those public players turn out to be window lickers?

just interested to see how many more regulars u got...and how many are embracing the game

just to give me an idea what to expect when i eventually get in amongst it..seeing as i'll be greener than a granny smiths!
 
also am i gonna struggle playin this game on a 8800gtx..had 2 but 1 went to gfx card heaven known as the bin:(...gotta quad core extreme cpu.......if i canny handle it captain.....which card do i go 4....the gtx295...or get the gtx285,and wait 4 the new cards that are just around the corner? also any 1 use the tracker ir5..or previous versions ,are they worth it..and how easy are they to get....right gonna stop asking questions now b4 i peeve the lot of you off:)
