Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead

Doesn't in any way. Like any other mod it's just a seperate PBO file, the mod make did include a few single player misssions to try though, rest is for the editor.

im a arma 2 noob, last played anything similar was operation flashpoint old game i know, so basically you can create your own missions and use the mod to populate your cities with zombies.

Your not wrong there, definately not optimised, at the moment I'm running on this:

Visibility: 3008
Quality Pref: Very High
Interface Res: 1920x1080
3D Resolution: 1920x1080
Texture Detail: Very High
Video Memory: Very High
AF: Very High
AA: Very High
Terrain Detail: Very High
Objects Detail: Very High
Shadow Detail: Very High
Post Effects: Disabled
Interface Size: Very Small
Aspect Ratio: 16:9 Wide

It runs smoothly at that, but if I push it a bit more it starts to stutter, I expected to be able to run a much larger Visibility range but I just start getting the famous mouse lag if I increase it by too much

All in all its an awesome game though, really enjoying it, proper sim

EDIT: Didn't know there was a patch already, how does that work with a Steam game? (excuse my stupidity just thought it all got downloaded automatically through Steam for Steam games)

it feel laggy on my system, probably doesnt like crossfire.

I'm getting awful performance. (choppyness, laggy mouse response etc)

Q9550 @ 3.8
8GB DDR2 1066mhz
ATi 5830 (overclocked)
3 x Sammy F3 RAID0
Windows 7
1680x1050 (post proc off, shadows off, no AA/AF, medium/high detail)

All up to date with directx, drivers and patches etc.

Do the flight controls differ from the original ARMA at all? I hated the none-scalable throttle that saw me either overshooting or stalling and slamming into the deck in fixed wing aircraft in ARMA.

I'm getting really good performance with most settings set to Very High, running on the rig in my sig below. However, my 19" widescreen monitor limits me to a max resolution of 1440x900 so I'm not pushing res high but consequently can max out the eye candy.

As far as the SP campaign goes, anyone else finding that they are running out of ammo in the M1A2 very quickly in the mission where you have to clear the strongpoints along a road and rescue crash site survivors?. Is it possible to rearm anywhere other than way back at the FOB you start the mission at?.

Oh and I worked out how to get past my earlier problem of not being able to call up a UAV. All you do is walk up to one of the Bradleys with you and press the action button which brings up the UAV option. Can't recall which of the 3 Bradleys it was, but its definitely one of them. ;)

for those of you asking about mods the sixupdater will only update ACE.

almost everyone uses the yoma addonsync especially for clans mod packs and ace too. this lets you check updates for multiple mod packs and download them as well as browse and manage your favourite servers and launch differnent saved arma2 mod sets for your different servers needs. check it out.

everything you need is on armaholic :)

Yea but addonSync needs the correct URL to download and update mods

You're not happy with those settings , for any other game those are high settings but ARMA you are of the elite few :p

That's one of the things that ruins any game IMO

This looks class,I wish I could have gotten into arma 2 but all the bugs just ****ed me off and the fact that I could'nt kill anyone and kept dieing put me off too.

if only graphics were more important than gameplay i would agree with your post

??????

Eh? how do you get that response to the statement "If it only it played as good as it looked"

Which means, "it looks great, but it doesnt play well"

Which means I am saying, if only they had paid as much attention to making it play well, as well as looking great.

Is English not your first language or something?

After updating the old Arma 2 to 1.07 I haven't crashed once, I used to crash a lot before that - you should give it a shot, you might be pleasantly suprised mate
