***ArmA 3 Thread***

It is indeed. I was quite sceptical when I first read the article, but this move allows the developers to spend more time working on making ARMA better, instead of developing a platform for updates, and digital rights management.

Does this limit the ability of the modding community for ARMA though, which is in part what has made ARMA such a popular game?

To give you two keywords summarizing our priorities: User Generated Content and multiplayer.

I am more concerned about how user generated content will be managed from an anti-cheat point of view. Since the most notorious "hacks" use script injection, I am wondering how counter measures against this method will impact innocent tools such as the Loadout Editor (LEA). While I do hope that BattlEye or VAC (if implemented) bans will result in Steam account bans (this will reduce the number of script kiddies), I am worried that the use of innocent tools may have the same consequences. It's a fine line. :)

Probably some form of VAC verification done before they are released to the public. The same way we use server keys just now I would imagine!

As long as we can use some form of launcher I will be good with that!

Must buy for sure, just hope steam doesn't hinder the modding communities ability to make amazing mods like A.C.E, we'll just need to wait and see i suppose.

hmmm steam only , that sucks donkey ****

I would much rather purchase games than rent them

I hope they reconsider this

But as long as our clan can host a dedicated server without arsing about with steam then that might be bareable

Possible new about the Alpha being spoken about by one of the DEVS over on the official forum!

He actually thought news would have been released yesterday, so might be something very very soon!"
