***ArmA 3 Thread***

Another mode I'm enjoy playing atm is CTI 'Capture the Island' on the EUTW servers, I have no trouble getting a game on there.

They also allow JSRS and Blastcore:)
 
Never been a huge fan of the AI based stuff if I'm honest. Although I last played when performance was pretty terrible with lots of AI. Does it use the ALiVE mod yet?
 
No this version is pvp with only a few ai guarding the cap points, 2 teams battle it out to take all of points, they also vary it at different locations around the island.

Edit: The performance is good too.

What sort of things are you looking for? For single player the must haves are

JSRS 2.1
or
Speed of Sound RC1

Blastcore Visuals

All those require CBA.

There's also AI addons that improve how they react to contacts, voice commands addons so you can control your AI squad with ease. Lots of custom units/vehicles/maps now coming out also.

Check out Armaholic which hosts pretty much 95% of released mods.

Thanks - just the job, is JSRS like the old ACE mod for Operation Flashpoint?

Are there any good missions packs / campaigns to play through that you would recommend?

JSRS is simply a sound addon. There's nothing like ACE out for Arma 3 just yet. One of the devs who worked on ACE for A2 has said it's in development but nothing has been said or seen for a few months now. It's a massive task though so it's not surprising!

Campaign/mission packs I honestly can't say. I don't think there are any campaigns out just yet. The majority of my Arma is done in either COOP or TvT missions. Look on the Official A3 User missions thread or check the Steam Workshop. There are lots of individual missions on there. From the few singple players missions I have tried, I highly recommend:

Depends if you play SP or MP. If it's mainly MP on the large missions I would hold off, performance will still drop to 30fps regardless of what you have in your system!
