***ArmA 3 Thread***

Very good news :D

Some of the official patches in Arma 2 really boosted performance and fixed a lot of bugs, I have good faith that they will be able to release Arma 3 in a much better state than Arma 2 was.

It's nice to hear they're working on the animations, I think that was one of the main weak points in the previous game. I also like the sound of being able to customise your character.

Hopefully they will be able to give us something special :)
 
From the screens it looks no different to ArmA2, that could just be teaser stuff, but unlikely. To be honest with you I can't really care for the content, any arma veteran knows most things that are played in any half decent community are from the modding community.

I don't care if it's future weapons and vehicles, someone will already bring in the older weapons.

But I do look forward to what they do to gameplay/ai/vehicle and player movement/interaction. Although it hasn't changed much in 10 years it still feels samey. Which is good because it promotes a slower/tactical gameplay instead of running and gunning.
 
always wanted to get into Arma but pushed away from the performance issues hopefully Arma3 is a step in the right direction
 
i dont care about the content because that will all come from the modding community. Its the engine, its performance, features and enhancements that im looking forward to! particularly serverside as someone else said its very poor server side.

I hear ALL enemy AI is ran off a single thread. Which seems mental and on a co-op server. that brings it to its knees. :(

What i cant stand is people moaning about the min reccomended specs ffs guys this game will be out in 2012 and someone was moaning that there was no win xp support , for crying out loud , shheesh and we moan that consoles are holding us back ....
Another moaned that why are they using nvidia physx ?! because it is a very good system and optimised , my god people were moaning that physx was a waste of time cause no games used it , well now arma 3 will ......
Then another guy was moaning about DX11 saying aww that will mean i have to buy a new gfx card !.No it doesnt it means that if you want to see everything maxxed then yes you will , if not turn setting down and use dx10.....
This is not a dig at our forum , that was on BIS forums but it p**** me off .
The developers are making another PC excluisve... Oh some one also mentioned that the game will be consolized !:eek:
I do worry some times ... now where my tablets and some nice red wine !
