***ArmA 3 Thread***

@WoodyUK I loaded up into a wasteland server on the independent side, who is my enemy? Everyone? How do I know if someone is on my team? Will he have a marker on them like they do in SP?

Yeah as above, think Independent as "Free for all". Wouldn't recommend going as that team unless you're playing with a few friends in a group as you'll have to shoot everything you see in your way!

Does anyone get a constant 60+ FPS online? I seem to be fine offline but once I get online, my entire game goes to poop? I'm constantly lowering all settings and turning off AA but it never even reaches 60 online.

Your FPS is limited by the server, it’s normal in overcrowded servers to have terrible FPS. Changing your settings makes little difference.

I play a fair bit KOTH

The group of lads I play with do various missions every now and then.

If anyone wants someone to play with your welcome to add me on steam

:p If your a noob I don't mind giving some pointers and tips, although im not a back seat player.

I’ll be on Thursday night if you’re about?

Anyone bothering with the new DLC?

For all the hours I have in arma I hadnt bothered with the campaigns but im quite enjoying what I have played of this one so far.

The main reason I got it was for the new terrain which I have to say I am loving.

Its probably not as visually stunning as Tanoa but it seems much more playable. The problem I had with Tanoa was the jungle was just too dense, the AI could see and shoot you through the trees but you couldnt see them. The woods arent as thick on Livonia and they are allot more farmers fields and open spaces.

And if anyone is buying it, on the steam store if you add the contact complete edition to your basket it just charges you for the DLC you dont already own. So if you only need contact its £15 instead of £20.

It's pretty good, has a nice feeling to it and it shows Bohemia is on the right track with telling a story (and is kinda the only good thing of the DLC - plus the extra "free" stuff, terrain, etc., if you're into to that).

The scouting and scavenging is still in and still frustrating like in the other campaings, as the gameplay is just typical ArmA 3, with all its bugs and cumbersome UI.
Performance is not great either, quite the contrary - at times almost 50% performance increase by disabling the shadows altogether plus shadows draw distance to minimum vs. ultra shadows and 200 shadows distance - and it's not about the GPU, it's just a CPU/RAM thing (again, very old engine).

I just hope they come ASAP with ArmA4 on a proper engine. So far is just wasted potential and good ideas based on ancient tech. :(
