Right click on ARMA 3 in your Steam library, go to properties and in one of the tabs in that menu there's a dropdown for betas to opt into. It might be an actual beta tab or a downloads tab, I can't remember.
For anyone looking to squeeze a few more FPS out of this whilst maintaining some anti-jaggy protection I've found that FXAA + 87% rendering resolution looks pretty much the same as SMAA + 100% due to the sharpness filter on the FXAA. You gain a few FPS doing so so might be worth a punt.
Doesn't that make the final image look worse because the resolution isn't the native one for the monitor? It's not all about "ladders" in the final IQ.
Further tinkering, dunno if anyone can confirm this and I hope it's just an alpha issue:
Shadows when in open areas when going from disabled->low, some rocks a few bushes maybe a tree or two maybe cost 1-2 fps. Even when in a base or town the fps hit maybe 5-10fps.
However when in a place of more dense foliage, a forest or just a thicker collection of bushes my FPS dies on it's arse. Talking going from 80fps to 20-30fps.
Performance has not improved for me, checked my gpu settings and its only ever between 30%-50% in game. My FPS is about 15-30 and its only playable if I join servers with 5 people in it. I understand it's an alpha and i'll wait for more performance patches.
EDIT: So by maxing every game setting possible I managed to get my GPU usage to 70% and now it runs consistently 35-40fps.
