***ArmA 3 Thread***

Did a lot of config by adding steam start up commands and editing cfg, now runs at over 60fps with a lot of stuff on high settings so I'm wanting to get into this.

Anyone up for some at some point using mic? I'd rate myself as a noob at this.

60fps? Is that online or just single player?

That's the thing with the arma engine. You play one level or scenario and get huge framerates and think you've cracked it. Then play another and the framerate tanks into the 20's.

I'm now on an overclocked 5930k, x99, 980Ti system - pretty much top end gaming system - and it still can't play the game as it should all the time. I know arma is more cpu bound but if a 6 core (12 thread) cpu at 4.5Ghz can't do it, It's a complete joke really.

Anyone use an X55 HOTAS for Arma3? I CANNOT fly heli's since the config for my mouse was destroyed by an update (and for the life of me I can't get it back to how it was).

Or maybe a T1600M joystick?

BECTI Extended coming tomorrow! Might finally get me playing Arma again...

I was going to post here asking if anyone knows of anything similair to old Evolution maps in Arma 2, will check that out. I used to host a server for about 2-3 people and we would capture towns in sequence against AI. If anyone knows of anything similair for Arma 3 feel free to recommend. :)

You sure you have the anti cheat enabled ?

I think so mate, these are the mods I have

Image on the left is a lot worse than the right one imo. More natural lighting on the right than the flat light on the left. Plus u can see more detail due to how the light is acting, notice the fence and the area in the middle of the fence under the tree. Looks far more natural there imo.

Just also take note, these tech changes to lighting and shaders and reflections etc will be open to modders so imagine how far a modder might be able to take it to bring more realistic lighting etc to the game after awhile as the devs can only devote so much time on it where as modders in most cases have all the time in the world.
