Interestingly, Amazon have reported its release on 29th May. That HAS to be wrong as Codemasters have not hinted at a release besides "Summer 2009".

Not that I'm aware of, that appears to be a new addition compared to ARMA.

An interesting twist, I wonder how it will all pan out?. I notice some items have $ signs and values so presumably you can earn money somehow or at least start with some sort of budget on certain missions?

Yeah I believe this RTS minigame/game mode goes back to an OFP mod. Im not sure if it is in ArmA, if it wasnt then by now it will be in the form of a mod.

Build a base and send off squads of infantry and tanks etc to take points of interest, kind of interesting but I never tried it myself.

May be you just get given a set budget to deal with, then to build any more extensions or bolster the defense, your team has to go out and kill 10 enemy soldiers (just an example) to bring in the money

Have you played the bf2 mod in my sig. It doesnt have any of the SF weapons because they've made their own ones, theres plenty of tactical opportunity since it takes half an hour to cross a map on foot
