ARMA2 & OFP2 who else cant wait

That pedal bike is awesome. I wonder if you can do back flips and stunts. It would be good if you got extra points for doing stunts and you could level up your bike skills to do more varied tricks. If you got really good you could buy ramps and stuff.

On a more serious note, OFP was the first FPS I played multiplayer, back on my ISDN connection, bagging myself pings of around 350-400 which was interesting to say the least. I assume these will have multiplayer as that is really what I am interested in.

Thought you were being serious then! Was gonna pull you up on it :D

I hope the animations in both games are spot on. I love when animations are done well in first person shooters.

If that seagull view is still in the game I will die. That was the hardest thing ever to control. So infuriating for me personally

Does anyone know if you can jump in either game, I found OFP and ARMA a bit restictive at times as you couldn't get much height.

they are adding the ability to jump over small objects like fences in ArmA2, but you wont have a normal jump which you can press over and over again, it will be a case of walking up to a small wall or fence and then selecting the option or pressing a button.

I like having the ability to jump but how often would you use it in the open field or in a forest fire fight at night? The fact you couldnt jump over little obstacles in the way in towns and what not was infuriating, so its good to see you will be able to by pass them this time round

I think to all those who have commented about jumping; I think it is important to note that this isn't going to be another Cod4 on an epic scale. It is first and foremost a military sim and not the classic Cod fps. It is intended to be as close to real life as a game can get and bunny hopping through streams of bullets and past the rogue grenade is not exactly realistic: a la Cod series.

I personally would be very dissapointed if OFP2 was anything like "COD4 on an epic scale".

im leaning more towards Arma2, its developed on PC for the PC with console versions TBD , it also looks the more realistic .. :D

OFP2 has been developed on all formats which kind of concerns me that corners will be cut and the game simplified so it appeals to console types

that said, im looking forward to them both but not having to maybe upgrade to get them running sweet

There is a lot of info drip feeding out about Arma2 on the various sites - the wildlife (cows, dogs), civilians, large maps and a host of realistic vehicles, set in a post cold-war European setting. And quickly editable to arrange your own scenario.

So far there are a couple of controversial addtions to the game including a scantily dressed lady offering services to soldiers (though I suspect limited to verbal services since interaction with civilians is included to obtain information - if you have an interpreter).

So I believe the realism has been upped a notch for the next release, with multi-core support handing the AI more power to become more formidable enemies (not just the super aiming accuracy they have now). Since the recommended specs list a 2.8Ghz dualcore and 512Mb 8800GT or equivalent and min specs well below this, I believe most people will get a chance to play at decent settings.
