ARMA2 & OFP2 who else cant wait

Apologies for asking what is perhaps a dumb question but can someone explain to me what the whole Arma 2 / OPF 2 thing is all about as far as the dev teams go?.

Who is who compared to the original lot who created OPF?. Who went off and created Arma?.

I'm a bit confuzzled as to the differences between Arma 2 and OPF 2.

Bohemia Interactive are the studio that produced the original OFP that was released by Codemasters, who own the name rights for the game. Bohemia then split off and produced ARMA and now codies are producing the new Operation Flashpoint.

Simple :D

Thanks for that m8.

So although Codemasters own the rights to the name of OPF, who is actually coding the game for them?. No one who had anything to do with the original OPF/Bohemia operation?.

When are either of these games going to surface? Seems like delay after delay.

Both are claiming to be coming out on console as well.

Not really been delayed as far as I know?, Arma 2 is due out around June/July and OFP2 will probably be later in the year.

I just hope the AI is much better in Arma 2 because in Arma enemy AI could see through cover and it was unplayable.

Don't panic. I'm not bumping this thread with new photos or videos :D

First time I've noticed it but they've updated their page with a list of (including pics) the Vehicles and guns that will feature in the game. Just something to look at

http://www.arma2.com/weaponry_en.html (Vehicles listed under Intelligence at the top)

Check out the Urban vehicles listed. Theres a great little peddle bike :D

Good old bikes.
All you need is a satchel charge on 1 then you've got a good game of "where the hell did it go?"

All vehicles will require full satchel charge testing upon release of this game. :)

out 26th june

At the same time, this isn't a game for those who like to run, gun, and then find cover to autoheal or slap on a magic health pack that brings them back to 100-percent. If you get shot, you're in big trouble in ArmA II, even if the bullet doesn't kill you. Most of the time, it will, which means having to reload at the previous checkpoint or restarting the missions. That's an improvement over the original Operation Flashpoint, which only let you save once per mission. Keep in mind, some missions could last over an hour, so that forced you to play more realistically and conservatively, as if your life were really on the line. ArmA II's checkpoint saves are fairly spread out, so hopefully that reduces frustration, but it will still force you to reign in the temptation to play ArmA II just like any other conventional shooter.

They are both shaping up that is for sure. I have a feeling that OFP2 will surprise people who are starting to doubt it. I read a videogamer preview the other day and it sounds incredible.

Arma2 has ticked almost every box too. I think it will be fetishistically realistic - perhaps to an insane level. I read something about how you need to realistically use tracer rounds for example.

I am so pumped for both titles now. Let's just hope they don't delay again.

ARMA II Delay

505 Games announces June 26 is the new release date for ARMA II, Bohemia Interactive Studios' military shooter sequel. This is a delay from the first quarter 2009 release window announced last summer. No explanation for the setback is provided, but the announcement is accompanied by a batch of five new screenshots.

I'm just still not convinced that ARMA2 will be better than Flashpoint. I just can't see it somehow.

All they need to do is update the graphics and stop the psychic enemies shooting through walls and it'll be better.

I can't see Flashpoint being anything other than CoD4 on a grand scale, lame! Living on the name I think.
