Armed gang violence. What's going on in Liverpool?

It's about time anyone wondering around the streets in their North Face gimp suits gets pulled up and searched. The UK should be better than this sort of crime happening.

Reminds me of Rhys Jones, also gang related cross-fire in Liverpool. If you haven't seen it, watch Little Boy Blue.

We dont have a well enough funded police force sadly. In my day it was the SPG doing that sort of stuff and it wasnt pretty.

Anyone watch Martin Freeman in 'The responder' on BBC - That was written by a former liverpool policeman.

Enjoyed it but wasn't sure how 'realistic' it was.

Based on recent events, it seems like a documentary.

Sadly its another example of more and more people disconnecting from society and forming their own smaller social orders i.e. gangs.

They live inside their small echo chambers and begin to think they are God-like and can take someones life.
You make it sound like this sort of stuff never happened before.

I blame drill music, tons of stabbings up and down the country too.

All started getting out of hand with the rise in drill music, too many idiots thinking they are big men who didn't get smacked by their parents as they were growing up.

discipline is left to the state now so kids are feral and doing whatever they like

Just watched the press conference about the poor 9 year old girl who was murdered in her own home - Story here:

And this comes hot on the heels of a 28 year old innocent victim gunned down in her own home on Sunday

Anyone in the area know what's going on? I assume these are some organised crime/gang issues where innocents are being shot and the police have indicated that there's a culture of silence - not wanting to grass people up to the police.

Is it fear from reprisals? Or is trust in the police particularly low in Liverpool?

The 28 year old victims brother was also mistakenly gunned down in 2016, well apparently mistakenly.

Their parents also wont pick them up to sort the problem as the parents see them "as my angel, he wouldnt hurt a fly" yet according to police the little angel is already responsible for theft's, threat of violence and potential actual violence.

I'm sorry as well but education is not sorting all of this out, I cant give numbers as such, but out of 10 waste of oxygens today, how many are capable and want to change their life around post education? which of them will be happy to stop chasing drug money and work for min wage for the next 6 years? Unless your answer is 10, the situation will continue to be a problem.
I dont think we can ever get the number to 10, so whilst its good that we can change some of their lives around, for the ones who refuse to change and are so entrenched, what do you do with them?

I personally think a PUBG/battle royale type of situation is the only thing to get the ones who wont change, out of our society and I cant be the only one who really does not fancy paying for them nor have my future children at risk of getting shot for no reason, stabbed for their phone or seriously injured for an initiation event, but i'd happily pay to put them in a battle arena.

I remember that one too well

In my view, the consequences of carrying, supplying or using any form of weapon where if its knives, dusters, guns, tazers etc is not high enough.
Want to be a bad man, want to carry weapons? instead of jail time, force them on to a PUBG based island, and they can go get all their killing fun out their system, one guy survives and guess what, we leave him there for the next run.

Yeah, make it a spin off from Love Island but we'll call it **** Island. It would be a number one show that's for sure, like a 21st century public hanging.

I dunno, but I hope they find that *******.

Gangs killing other gangs isn't ideal, but it doesn't bother me that much.

Someone shooting an innocent 9 year old child....
When people get their gunfighting techniques from watching rap videos, getting a bullet into the same postcode as the intended target is considered a result. They don’t seem to bother much about positive target identification either.

The best solution which doesn’t involved dropping these ferals down the shaft of an abandoned tin mine is for the Government to build a Battle Royale arena for gangs to settle disputes in.

Another possible is some really comprehensive firearms and tactics training for the miscreants. That would reduce the risk to innocent passers by, and increase the chance of a clean kill.

Maybe it's rose tinted specs but I'm sure in the old days gangs at least tried to keep it amongst themselves and not involve innocents, if only because that would invoke the ire of the law. And if the worst happened, they would soon be given up by other members of the underworld.
These days they don't seem to give a **** if a kid gets caught in the crossfire.

Murica...

Oh wait, maybe do whatever Moss Side is doing that area used to be even worse than Liverpool for gang crime but seems to have sorted itself out these days in regards to gun crime (still a lot of stabbings)
