Also getting locked 120 fps @4k with everything set to max, it runs really nicely. Im finding the first boss fight quite difficult.

Stay as close possible, under him if you have to. Fire everything and don't be afriad to melee him.
Aren't there any options to adjust the deadzone / controller inputs ?
I believe you can within steam itself, not the game, via Settings > Controller. There's advanced options once you've setup the pad that includes custom deadzone options.Aren't there any options to adjust the deadzone / controller inputs ?
Or you might end up shelving starfieldMan I really want to try this out, but with starfield only a week away I'd end up shelving this :/

Nothing stopping you from playing multiple games.

Got 2 hours of game time in this morning. Movement and controls feel good, a little slow at times but I'm still experimenting with builds. One thing that I hate is that the boost turns off if you standstill for too long. My L3 is dodgy on my controller (2000+ hours of rocket league will do that) so assualt boosting is hard. Not being able to assault boost properly could be causing me some issues. We will see how it goes.
Still getting used to being able to properly utilising the vertical movement of the game, but that will come with time. It can be challenging figuring out the correct way to dodge certain attacks and there are no I-frames in this game. I am liking it so far and looking forward to getting more mech parts and how they change up the game.
The right weapons and build really do make a difference. I was doing the mission with the giant mining platform with the laser eye (you would have seen it in the preview footage of the game). During the final fight I kept dying switched out my "primary" gun and I just smoked in it in the first attempt.
I redid a mission because I ignored the optional boss and I wanted to have a crack at it. When I completed it, I thought I did well. I got a c rank (you seem to only get mission ranks when redoing missions). There has been a lot of talk about S-ranking all missions, that is going to be hard.
From what I've read online, it seems this game is similar to Nier automata, in that to get the full experience you need to complete the game multiple times. For those who don't know, in Nier Automata you needed to complete the game 5 times to get the true ending.
Edit:
Since missions aren't ranked the first time you complete them, you can explore. I found out while watching a video that there was an optional boss I had missed because I was bee-lining from one way point to the next.
As soon as you unlock the training missions. Do all of them. They give you mech parts
