Armorsuit up

Making a start today just thought id put up some pictures.

Stripped down so i can rotate door to open the right way. Had some trouble here 2 screws got chewed beyond belief and one had to get pulled out with plyers. Door is now on the "right" way around i lose out on the external Power lights as once again some of the screws impossible to remove but tbh ive not had HDD Light for years and ill know if the pc is on.

My Radiator turned up at 8am this morning so been checking out fittings and mountings, looks all good had a trial fit went alright but will see after i flush it.

And I made a run to the shops to grab a few things i forgot and or thought id be ok without came to £5 so not end of the world.

Lookin' good, I wanna see more :)

Its getting there i just fitted the Rad its the stealth master all you can see is the fittings now trying to finanlise loop plan and chose which 2 out of 8 inlets to use on my Res.

Still not decided if i should go
1. Res -> Pump -> CPU -> Rad -> Res
2. Res -> Pump -> Rad -> Cpu -> Res

From a quick look its option 2.

Ill throw up some pictures when I have decided upon which inlets to use and stuck down the pump also maybe a quick clean i gots figure prints all over it.

CASUALTY!!! I broke my lamp :( forgot i was resting the mohawk on it so moved case and smash cya later.

Latest pics this should be it until i start the move into the new case.

Opinions on Thermal Paste?
1. Arctic Silver 5
2. MX-4
3. IC Diamond 24-Carat

Also
I have my res filled up apart from 2cm shall I fill it to top?
The water moves around a lot in the res at the top level I assume this is fine and that I should just put the anti cyclone adapter I got with it.

Anywho here are some pictures.

Last few pics

A Really stuffed HDD rack.
imgp0916.jpg

Motherboard is in no cables just yet and i can have my heatsink tops back on my dominators yay.
imgp0914t.jpg

Cables are in bit of a tight fit but no major issue as there is room at the back.
imgp0917n.jpg

All working now after a long day about 99% of small bubbles gone now as well and no leaks so far.

Cable management was better in this case but could still have done with a little more room round the back and the grommets for cable routing could have been longer.

Well thats it for now unless i give in and get some more watercooling and can source a window without paying around the £100 mark.

Also looking for some dye for the water as draining just to change colour in the first few days-weeks too much effort.

On another note im quite happy overall with this setup the case fans are very quiet and the difference between high and low speeds on the fans makes little to no difference to the temps been running prime for an hour and hitting 40-42 on most cores compared to 56 on air with max fan speed and that was pretty loud.

Well I just spent some more money and should be getting some new bits later this week.

Thanks Cleeecooo for helping me decide on what i should use.

Now i have to think about how im going to drain current loop hmmmm.

Ever considered getting the internals powder coated?

Looks like you're making good progress though :)

kd

TBH I really like the silver aluminum look inside and black externals its not like its lame steel.

And ya was a long build and enjoyed it and couldn't help myself now i have another £200 of stuff to go inside, nothing fancy but will be fun.

How about adding another loop in to w/c the gpu's.

At this moment in time my GTX460s are hitting 60 on top card and 50 on lower card at 99% usage in bf3 so its not too bad. The thought of throwing £100 of waterblocks onto something I intend to replace in a few months isnt what i want to do and the resale value of watercooled 460s I dont think is so high.

I am also going to be using just a single loop with 2 radiators there just isnt the space for 2 loops and a clean(ish) look.

Got a delivery this morning first of many I hope.

Well here is my new XSPC EX480 very nice.

I decided that buying pre-sleeved psu cable would be better for now until i decide upon colour scheme and source a window, I now have the cable installed and really does tidy it up a bit.

And lastly a sealed adapter so I can add in a drain tube onto my reservoir just to make it a little bit easier. TBH I would have preferred a quick lock valve which i could attach a pipe to for draining but I didn't look hard enough.

Its all good as 3 of them will be hidden anyway and the other one I got is mounted at the back of my case with a grill which takes away the whole look at me im grey look about it.

imgp0924.jpg

All fans on and yes its intentional its only got 3 on it :P time will tell.

Ty OCUK, these came today so could put in my EX480.

imgp0927.jpg

So now I got my angled fittings I mounted my Rad nice and secure now using some EK UNI Holder 50-70s.

imgp0929e.jpg

Inside shots and i added some Mayhems Deep Blue dye its a good match to the rest of my system.

Had to do a funny pipe formation but its all good.

imgp0930.jpg

Leak tests are complete and not many bubbles this time only a few tiny tiny ones to go.

imgp0932g.jpg

imgp0940f.jpg

I added in a drain pipe looks funny but will make life so much easier. (may eventually change this into a quick lock instead of a threaded stop.

imgp0938d.jpg

Ill say again im really happy with the coloured dye looks great in this image.

imgp0937.jpg

Well these are probably going to be my final shots for a long time I think (unless I source me a window panel then ill add some LEDs), any comments or feedback would be great.
