US: Arrow - Season 3

Things improved a bit this week, it's still got a long way to go before it's well and truly back though. I keep on wondering while I'm watching it why Oliver didn't/hasn't killed Waller. She put him through hell, seemingly just for her own gains, and also threatened his family. I would have killed her the first chance I got.

Avoiding spoilers but

I'm halfway through the first series, started watching this as a prelude to watching flash. When does the writing get better? I enjoyed the first 3 episodes but then the writing went down hill fast :(

From the moment he was arrested and told he was going to prison and needed a plea bargain, it's been terrible. I don't think it helps that I literally cannot stand his ex girlfriend. If it's worth hanging in there I will.....

To answer I think you need to seperate the writing of a specific episode and the writing of the season. Bad points is that the acting doesn't really improve but you get user to it and the episode writing still annoys me with stupid things (like the bad guys having guns and not using them). Where it does improve for second half of S1 and S2 is the over arching story is good and very enjoyable.

Has Laurel forgotten how to act more like, its getting worse and worse.

ALso, the fighting ability of Oliver is just not note worthy, fine, hes not League of assassins good, but he seems only as good as the rest of them.

They are trying to make them a team and it's awful, and this "you're not the leader any more" crap, when they fail almost any major fight and he consistently stops running after targets/finishing off people to save all their asses but they keep doing the they want to be equals thing.

The technology parts are painful, seriously "it wasn't working because you needed a quantum processor... " /hands over one she made earlier... at her home workshop maybe..... There is suspend belief by being a bit silly and just being so utterly stupid it's like watching CSI level stupidity going on.

That Thea reacted sensibly to her brother telling her the truth was a minor miracle.

Laurel, she's been the weakest link in the show since the first episode, I would happily have taken a recast at any time but the writing for her needed to improve as well.

I don't entirely know why I watch it, it's a good concept and there are some good characters in it but I can't stand Diggle, Laurel, Roy. Thea is one of the better characters though taking her seriously as a fighter when she's a stick insect build is pretty difficult. It makes Laurel look even more ridiculous, she's bigger and heavier built than Thea but looks far less convincing in combat.

The end of that episode, being beaten up hand around her throat she basically put her hand in his and he fell to the floor completely unable to fight back... of all the bad fights probably only Roy's "I'm not going to punch you in my first on screen fight.... I'm going to do some parkour then get stabbed instead" was worse.

It's yet another in a long line of shows that I watch because I can see how great it COULD be, but absolutely isn't :(

yea the team thing is getting to big, so mow everyone knows and are in the basement.
Oliver, Felicity, Useless Dingle, Laurel, Malcolm ( the best character/ actor in it) and now Thea are all in on it. Yet the stroke heart failure of a detective dad couldn't work any of it out, ohh and spotted Roy no problem.

I know what this show is, I can very happily suspend belief, so long as the suspension is a constant, but its all over the place.

Laurel also landed that guy outside the court a real solid hard right hook, where has that been all season???.

I thought the last episode brought a bit of spark back. Actually really enjoyed it and was very surprised at Thea's reaction to finding out. Really glad that he has told her....no more lame excuses.

Next weeks episode looks gooooood. Don't let me down.

Well at least my least favourite subplot are now moving on, not telling Detective Dresden about Sarah and pretending she's alive has been my "WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE" of the season. (I tolerated it up to the point where they faked the phone call a couple of episodes back, then it just made everyone involved look like a ****).

Hopefully between that, the Thea thing and the impending League stuff they might salvage this season yet.

Yeah I totally understand what you are saying, the main story with the Island and Mother is interesting but the individual parts are just terrible. Every episode the Mrs and I are going why the **** is that happening and why aren't you just doing A B or C.

So Laurels the canary, then she's not, then she is again, then Oliver doesn't want her to be, then Oliver does want her to be, then she gets drugged and decides not to be, then gets drugged again and decides to be, then tells her dad.

I wish they would just kill her off already!

I like how every time Oliver says "suit up" he picks up his bow first. Surely that's the last item to pick up :D. I don't know why but that bugs me every time....

Lol, this annoys me as well, in fact when he says that it feels so cheesy.

Suit up..... poor diggle just stands around

No one else spot it after 12 pages?

Shes wearing Dr fates mark, the gothic maybe plays into that 'Dark' magical part of Dr fate.
