US: Arrow - Season 3

I can't say I agree. I'm enjoying The Flash - it's light hearted fun. Arrow S3 has just been bad. It's not fun. It's not light hearted. The characters are all whiney, brooding and pouty (Diggle and surprisingly Laurel excepted). Oliver has become pathetic.

Yeah, definitely agree with you on this one. I liked Arrow seasons 1 and 2 but I think they're gradually eradicating the dark and nasty elements of the show and making it more acceptable for all age-ranges. It's got so much angst and drama without any decent character development that it resembles the OC with bows and arrows and (poorly choreographed) fight scenes.

I was more accepting of it as a show, but since I've seen what is possible with Daredevil in terms of character development without all the annoying teen lust and angst, and in terms of dark and visceral tone, I'm less keen on the Arrow. The Flash might be silly and at times poorly written, but at least it clearly knows what it is and doesn't take itself too seriously. Same goes for Agents of Shield and, to an extent, Gotham. Arrow has fallen into the bad territory of being neither funny nor adult-appropriate.
 
The Flash being childish and angsty is what its meant to be.
Arrow being childish and angsty means a down to earth and gritty series has been ruined.

Does anyone think the S3 finale is going to see 300+ innocent people killed, or a main characters stabbed through the heart out of spite by a crazy psycho?

When was the last time anyone in Arrow actually died?
 
That was a better episode in parts last night. I can't help thinking Ras is just using Oliver to test his daughter to see if she'll step up though.
 
Yeah maybe. We know he's obviously not going to be or stay as their leader when the time comes so has to be something like that.

Hopefully he doesn't go back to being a wuss, I have my fingers crossed that what he's going through at the moment will harden him again. Probably not though.
 
It apparently made her a master at archery anyway. Unless shes had some never shown secret training in that...
 
TV Writing across the board at the moment just seems weak.
Even Person Of Interest (My favourite show possibly ever) felt pretty weak at parts this season.

Also I can't stand Felicity whining any more, take some advice from Chopper Read eh? 'arden the **** up you've seen ****!.
 
The Oliver as the "demons head" stuff could easily go into next season, he'll probably just wake up from the brainwashing, kill Ras and control the league. Damian Dark was just mentioned and we know he's the big baddie for season 4.
