Arsene Wenger: Arsenal boss to leave club at end of season

If we go with Arteta, then we need to back him 100% from the start and give him 2 years at least before all the negativity kicks.

Good luck with that. Giving time to an experienced, proven manager is one thing but a newbie? That'll be tough. Bet Robbie is praying it's Arteta. £££

defo. i would give him 2 years to make top 4 and 4-5 years to see us challenge for the title
Surprised to hear that jonney. I was expecting you to say if no title in 2 years, you want him gone :p:D

What you said above is pretty much my thoughts. But I feel like the Arsenal TV lot will start the doom and gloom from the get go and make things worse for us all.

We need a 100% positive atmosphere and support otherwise we will end up like Man U did or worse.

Where is @drunkenmaster gone to, I wonder what his thoughts are? He must be mega happy to see Wenger gone. Maybe he will support his club now :p

How long do we give him to start winning away matches? ;)

In all seriousness, if we get off to a bad start next season it wouldn't surprise me to see the pressure building very early. Those first two or three games are going to be crucial

Problem with Arteta is that he will have to do very well to keep the job. As soon as things aren't going well people will turn on him and it gives the players an easy scapegoat for poor performances. It would be nice to see a Guardiola situation happen again but I can't see it myself.

Sounds about right to be honest :(

Also Guardiola had Barca. Arsenal would be a much harder challenge for Arteta to prove himself. I think even if he went and won the league for us next year, people would still turn on him really fast if things went down hill.

Big Sam for the job?

:p
Lol. I thought that too when I saw the news. I bloody hope not. I would rather give Arteta a chance than see him as Arsenal manager.

hope it's DiCanio, simply because I'd like AFTV to interview him and then watch DiCanio knock Robbies teeth out, would be mint

who will be the next trainer? i think it is Luis Enrique :)

It is unrealistic to expect miracles when a new coach comes. Whoever comes there.
And whoever coach comes, he will not stay there for any long.
Yes, the Wenger epic age is over but the more troubles just lie ahead.

In a sense, part of the problem long term is of Wenger's doing - Arsenal weren't a dominant force before he turned up but by delivering a decade of continuous 1st and 2nd place finishes, there is a whole generation of fans that are expectant of that performance level and deem that to be 'Arsenals level'. It'll take miracles or a huge amount of money to ever get back to that but i'm not sure all of the fanbase is ready to accept that yet.

This is a good point.

One look at the Arsenal TV lot and you can see they are not ready. Wish some of those guys would go support another team, Man City maybe.

Looking at the rumours and our targets, it seems we will be spending a lot less now that Wenger is gone. We will soon see if it was Wenger who held us back spending or not. Lol.

It is already looking like all the fans who wanted Wenger out will come to regret it. Should have been calling for Kronke out first, not Wenger...

People where calling for Kronke out but Wenger wasnt perfect either!

If Wenger is so good, how come PSG etc aint queuing up for his signature?

Wenger HAD to go . But so does Kronke

Well another problem is wenger and co selling us off as a European elite club when they decided to build and move to the emirates stadium, mixed with the highest priced tickets too!

All this promise and hype of us moving to the emirates to get funds and a stadium to compete not just for league title but with the big european teams like barcelona and bayern fell off its face big time
