Asking someone where they are from

That was my wife's view, when asked she usually answers with "England, but my parents are from Hong Kong". Because she knows the person is interested in her heritage, wants to understand if her family is from China, HK, Japan, Korea etc...

She was there as part of the charity that is why her answer where how they were.

Where are you from. Sistah Space.

No where are you from. Hackney.

The third question should have been. So what does your charity do?

Not. No what part of africa are you from.

And she doesnt know what part of Africa she (ancestors) was taken from because they didnt have records.

This whole oh just being curious has sod all to do with it. She asked the same type of questions to a top lawyer.

I wonder how many others had given her the cold shoulder for her questions.

"She only asked me my heritage once and seemed to accept my answer - Manchester currently! Racism is never far away tho [though]."

She should be having the same type of conversations as she would a white person.

Allegedly the Queen had a good way of dealing with this, just asking "have you travelled far" and just accept whatever answer was given.

Which is completely different from everyone else answering the question unless you’re being a ****.
As everyone else on this thread has managed to communicate a persons background and family history is often complex and interesting.
Unless you want to be a ****.
Tick.
Got her fame. Will be finding out what abuse means now via the internet.
No one asked about her family tree… just asked where she was from which she answered.

You do know it wasnt called africa back then? Dont worry about it.

So we can't be from Africa if it wasn't Africa. Additionally that theory is now largely in doubt. Finally, you declared this lady is from London. Which is it? It's almost like you've just done nothing but waffle crap and contradict yourself.

Standard.
