ASROCK 6900 XT NOW ONLY £689.99 (£649.99 FOR LOYAL FORUM MEMBERS)

Can someone please reassure me that there is little point me switching out the 3080Ti I bought in the MM very recently for this?

I had already had an offer accepted when I saw this and didn't want to bail out as I thought the difference would be small, but stupidly I have stayed subbed to this thread and each time I see a post it makes me want to buy one! Doesn't help I'm playing a lot of MW2 and Hardware Unboxed's GPU comparisons suggest a bit of an uplift in that title.

The third power connector would sadden me though as I only have two of my new white cables :(

Definitely not, you got a great deal!

Depending on how much is he paying for the 2nd hand 3080ti; if it is like £100~£200 over the brand new £650 6900XT with two games, then consideration toward value would also have to be taken into account.
It was a bit less than this, a good model and still 18 months warranty too, so not far off what this comes with new. The games made it tricky though for sure!

Thank you! That's it I'm un-subbing - hope you all enjoy your cards! Now I'll just have to hear about how good it is from my MW colleague who got his yesterday :D

If I can get a 3080ti for £600 or less I would probably have gone for that myself even if it was 2nd hand (actually I would probably prefer to buy Nvidia 2nd hand if there's warranty, as I don't want to reward Nvidia for the harm they are doing to PC gaming or taking the consumers as muppets).

I am quite interested in this card and to anyone that has recently bought it, is the particular model a decent one and to be honest I have never bought any ASRock products before how are they as a company?

This is my 1st ASRock product, recent previous aircooled videocards have been 2 x Gigabyte (Gaming OC's) and an MSI (Gaming X). The MSI was fantastic (GTX 1070) cool and very quiet, the Gigabytes were average. This is better than the Gigabtye RX 5700 XT Gaming OC it replaced. I can't hear it over the case fans (set to medium), temps are good and it's boosting well over 2300MHz (and often over 2400MHz) while gaming. Very impressive.

Ok, someone convince me if I should get this. I am deciding between this and the PowerColor 6750XT. Why that one, you ask? Because I game at 1440p and the way I see it, I don't plan on gaming in 4K for a good few years yet. Even if I get a 4K monitor, I will still end up gaming in 1440p. But this 6900XT is in a way futureproof should I eventually venture down gaming in 4K. I think I just answered my own question. :D:D:D

My current GPU is an RX 590. I guess anything is better than that, right?

222% increase going from your 590 to the 6900xt at 1440p according to Gpu check.

6900XT all day long at it's current price. That card was well over £1k on release.

Coming from a 580 though - upou'll need to spec the rest of your system as if it's 590 era - then it probabaly wont be able to supply the 6900XT properly. What PSU do you have?

Hmmm, I am thinking on cost here. We've just bought a house (due to move in a couple of weeks, exchange pending) and baby is due Jan 23rd (got all the items bought for him)

I have the Corsair SF750, which I bought because I have the Lian Li OD11 Mini. The rest of the spec is as follows:

CPU - Intel Core i7 5820
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR4 2600MHz RGB
Mobo - MSI X99A SLI Plus
SSDs - WD 500GB M.2 NVMe and 2x Crucial 1TB MX 500
