ASROCK 6900 XT NOW ONLY £689.99 (£649.99 FOR LOYAL FORUM MEMBERS)

I think the biggest mistake a gamer can make is to be a ‘fan boi’ for one team or another.
Go with either RED or GREEN depending on whether the games you play are developed with either in mind.
Also some GPUs pair off better with certain hardware etc.
My last AMD was a 7850 I believe, but now I’m back, mainly due to the great offer on this 6900XT but also because I just bought a freesync premium pro monitor which my nvidia control panel already says it’s not compatible with.

I'm very close to buying this card as a replacement for my 1080 TI but I'm worried about my CPU holding it back and PSU not having enough power.

I currently game at 3440 x 1440 Ultrawide.

My spec is:

Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming (AMD AM4) DDR4 X570 Chipset ATX Motherboard
AMD Ryzen 9 3900X Twelve Core 4.6GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - OEM
Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO Black 32GB (2x16GB) 3600MHz AMD Ryzen Tuned DDR4 Memory Dual Kit
EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2, 80+ GOLD 750W PSU

What would be a good replacement for the CPU and PSU?

Good replacements? 5700x/5800x/5800x3d. You'll be set for gaming for years.

You'll be fine.

You may need to turn on free sync on your monitor as my LG monitor for some reason had it turned off in the monitor menu. Had me scratching my head for hours.

LOL, why is the only other 6900XT that you sell almost £2k ?!?!?!
How much difference could there possibly be in performance?

Because that reflects what OCUK had to pay to buy them in dude.

This is all about buying power. Where during C19 and mining OCUK would have had little, and had to buy what they could get.

IMO the Asrock cards were all too expensive. They were charging EVGA like premiums for their cards, which are not exactly class leading. And that was before C19, so I am not surprised they are stuck with more than any one else. Hence now OCUK have the buying power to buy them up cheap, and thus sell them cheap.

PSU is fine. Absolutely fine, that is a great unit. I think at that res the CPU should be fine too tbh. Though if you really wanted to spoil yourself you could drop in a 5800X3D.

Thanks all. I went with a 5800X £150 more for the 5800X3D didn't seem worth it.
It's a solid CPU and I saw gains over my old 5600X in games, even in Crysis 3 I was up by 20-30FPS in the CPU limited grass areas.
