Asrock Z68 Extreme 7

Is anyone else going to be running three cards on their board? :)

not at the moment, currently have 2 6950 2gb but thinking about picking up another in the future(if I can find a sapphire toxic for cheap that would be great :) ). bought 2x sapphire 6950 2gb toxic just recently plus this mb along with a few other items so can't afford a 3rd 6950 :)

Anyone running SLI on this yet? I can't fit mine in slot 1 and 4 due to the size of EK Bridge I have - new one on order. But Windows won't see both cards in slot 2 and 4.

Andi.

PS Yes I had a finger print on the edge of the CPU retainer.

biggest board review ever lol.....nice one thanks, looks like the board for me. After killing this pc woth clocking i dont think i will clock this one, maybe let autoclock do the work for a bit.

cheers for the link nightglow <3

I let my extreme 4 auto clock the cpu to 4.8 and Ram to 1866Mhz when its 1600 stock been like this for 3+ months no probs and the system gets hammered :)

Anyone got there board up and running yet? still waiting on my ram any day now.

is it ttrue about the fingerprint on the cpu socket? :D

Mine is up and running now. I ran into a couple of issues during the build which made it a longer session that I anticipated but it seems to be running OK now. I couldn't resist the temptation to overclock a touch with it being a click of the mouse in the bios though. The board does looks very nice inside an all black case, IMO anyway!

The ones with the fingerprint came off the production line faulty and have had to be repaired :D

It turns out that it's actually Bill Gates' fingerprint. He was so impressed by the board when he received his that he personally went to the Asrock factory and marked a few chosen boards. Look on ebay, they're going for nearly $1000 at the moment; search for 'Golden Asrock'. Glad i left it on the board now!

what overclock did you acheive and did you just raise the multiplier? im a complete OC noob

LOL@ Bill Gates fingerprint

I'm not that great at proper overclocking but the board has an automatic overclock function in the bios where you just choose the speed that you want to try and achieve. I believe the choice is from 4.0 to 4.8. I opted for 4.4 to start with just to see if it's stable which it has been.
