Asrock Z68 Extreme 7

think the psu maybe overkill :)

I know it is for this system but should see me through a future next upgrade. Got it for a pretty good price at the time.

I would suggest sapphire 6950 2gb toxic but the price has gone upto £239.99 now they have them in stock

Not having heard of that card I've just read a very positive review of it, especially when overclocked!!

Ordered mines today from another vendor as i missed out on the pre order price from here.

I think we should all have a dedicated extreme 7 thread with various setups and thoughts on the board!!

does anyone have any 8GB Ram recommendations? what brands? speed? thanks

well I got my order of the 6950s in today(only got it 1 1/2 hrs or so ago), only had a chance to test 1 but it unlocks the shaders tho it seems to suffer from the issue mentioned in 1/2 reviews where the core is is down to 775mhz rather than the pre-oced 880mhz its ment to be.

as I said tho its upto £240 now(still a good chunck cheaper than the 6970s), not sure if you think its worth the extra over the 560ti.

edit: its on 'this week only' offer now at £233.99

Received my Extreme7 board today. Can anyone else who has it now confirm whether they had to break any seals to get to the board (and also if it came with any anti-static packaging) as my board has a huge fingerprint on the shiny frame surrounding the CPU.

Got mines today also can confirm there where no seals to break and ALSO have a huge fingerprint on the socket in the bottom left hand corner.

Thanks for the response. It didn't look like there were any adhesive seals looking at the packaging otherwise there would have been some residue or tearing. Also surely whoever packed these shiny boards should have been wearing gloves.

Waiting on the memory to arrive, got everything else.

@Hamster: what memory did you go with?

I went for 2 of these 8GB kits:

8GB G.Skill DDR3 PC3-14900 1866MHz Sniper Series (9-10-9-28) Dual Channel kit
(F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR)

And I do realise that anything over 1600MHz isn't going to yield much gain in performance. Part of the reason I went for them is that they weren't that badly priced and they are on the supported memory list for the Extreme7.
