Asrock Z68 Extreme 7

I'm going 12500k, 8gb pc-12800, sapphire 6960 toxic xfire so not sure it'll be use to me. anything else?

trying to decide betwen the asus p8z68v-pro and the asrock extreme4 g3 or this if its worth the extra.

I reckon it will be over £200 maybe £240 but i cant see its worth all that extra but maybe im missing something here so what extras do you get for all that extra money.

yes im trying to decide between them both but having two faulty Asus boards in a row makes the decision a bit more easy.

Well i would just get the extreme4 g3, i have the Extreme4 ref model at min and i cant fault it but not able to use 3 gpu's so getting the extreme7 on that point only! so if your only getting 1 or 2 cards get the extreme 4... I also have the Asus board but dont like it, had lots of little stupid bugs with it that the Asrock didnt give me.. :)

So your paying all that extra cash to use 3 gpus.

I've had:

P5B-Dlx still going strong after 5yrs in a pc downstairs that my 4yr old niece uses;

Maximus Formula S.E which died due to a watercooling leak within a few months, got full refund as the seller didn't have anymore due to asus stopped making them and no other x38 mb I was interested in.

P5Q Dlx still going strong after 3yrs

so not had any problems with asus myself :)

crezzlin if I was to get a 3rd 6950 in the future would the extreme 7 allow me to use it in trifire(or is it xfireX 3/4 cards together)?

For me, the extra 2 sata ports over the Extreme4 varieties is going to be useful as I will be using all 10 of them :) Well actually 9 of them but one of them is shared with the e-sata port.

Thats the only bit i would be interested in the 2 extra sata ports but there not worth an extra say £100.

Yes you will be able to use 3 single cards with the extreme 7..
Also another point with this board is if you had 3 large cards i.e. 6950's you can still fit large/ full size sound card under the 1st GPU unlike any other board that support 3 GPU’S Asus/Gigabyte :) That’s why I’m waiting for the Asrock so I can use all 3 cards with my sound card :)

Yeah only because when i 1st got my setup with the Extreme 4 board i didnt realise it will not support 3 single cards unless they are 5850's as the PLX chip it has to use all PCIE lanes at 8x8x4x just cant keep up with the 3rd card, it will run 3 cards but will give massive lag in most games and even more when i use eyefinity.. Will sell my board to fund it lol im not Rich ha

now on sale and instock from 3 different vendors, lowest price £217.34!!

waiting to see what OCuk will be selling them for
