Assange to go!

not when sweden have a fast track lane to extradite people to the states no. something to do with what the states are saying means they cant extradite him from the uk, but can under swedish law.

he has no charges laid against him though. all they want him for is questioning, but refuse to question him in the uk for some reason.

You can argue semantics all you want from a Swedish point of view but in this country at this point he would have been charged and you know exactly what I mean. He has something to answer for.

Yes, like most I know the world's corrupt and I know we, in the Western world, are that comfortably complacent that we will never challenge the status quo but that does not mean someone has to leak the necessary details for a few days titillation removing onto a rapid sense of apathy and in the process put people's lives at risk or execution or torture. There is always a balancing of right and wrong and what he did could have caused and most likely did in some cases cause great harm and to what benefit exactly. What good came from these leaks ... what exactly ... information we already knew deep down but anything tangible?

Im not sure much harm has come about due to the leaks submitted in the past, as you said they weren't exactly that different from what people expected anyway - ok so a few politicians got their feathers in a ruffle over some of the stuff but that's nothing new.

So care to explain what good came from the leak?

What about the harm to Manning, what about the harm to international relations, what about the harm to the people we don't know exist or are doing a job to protect the freedoms we take for granted (and he takes for granted and is now abusing).

Once again what good came from the leak exactly? He may think he is a moral man but he expects transparency over national secrets and events that he was unwilling to afford people when he came under the spotlight. He was sloppy (no pun intended) in his interactions with these women no matter what. I fail to see why people stick up for him. He seems to have a narcissistic complex bordering on the unhealthy and it seems the people who know him have come to the same conclusion.

SAS to storm the embassy? Can't wait!

Sorry, he's been granted Asylum by the Ecuadorians? But he'll still have to find some way of getting to the country I assume?

I assume so unless he wants to live out he's days in the Ecuadorian embassy but from what I've read on the news it looks like he doesn't have the safety net of an embassy to protect him either.

Britain revokes diplomatic status, police storm embassy and arrest Assanage, Assange then gets book on the next flight to Sweden, faces up to life, gets extradited to the US, gets found guilty and gets death penalty.

Transparancy will only lead to less corruption, lies and deceit.

Sending Assange to rot in Guantanimo will ensure that it continues and we'll fight more false wars.

Yes, of course it will. That leak certainly stopped the intentions in Syria and Iran and also the actual actions in Libya didn't it ...

We've done it before....

Funnily enough the whole concept of diplomatic embassies didn't crumble then so why would it now?

they will stick him in a diplomatic crate labelled as containing diplomatic papers, as these are not searchable by the UK enforcement officers or border controls under the diplomatic laws.

Not as simple as that.
They can search if they don't believe it contains diplomatic documents.
