Assassins Creed 3: American Revolution

Yes, oh boy yes. It's running at a constant 60fps for me. Screen tearing is the only issue at the moment. But it is STUNNING! And runs beyond well.

Wish I didn't have to go to work today :(

Thank God for that. I don't think I could take another crap console port, which seems to be most games these days.

So there is no stuttering etc? What is the setup you are playing on? Thanks :)

Install sweetfx and turn on vibrance, SMAA, HDR and leave them at there default settings.

Thats when the game becomes stunning.

Yea any others who have played it on PC got good reviews for it before i buy it?

I liked the first AC, really enjoyed the second, loving this one.

I have got around 7-8 hours on my current save, and I'm still playing as the teenager of the main guy. People have complained about the characters, I don't, I have a connection to the main characters I am playing. No spoilers, but had a twist last night I wasn't expecting and instead of the usual "oh, fair enough". I was like "whaaaa? This is going to stir things up".

So yea, I am a little gripped by the story, HOWEVER, it does keep dropping hints into previous AC titles so if you have not played the others, you won't fully understand the story. So watch a quick youtube vid to catch up.

As for the world, my god, it's so rich and full! The tree climbing is breathtaking, the speed and elegance, really fluid. Same for the buildings and stuff. The world lore is amazing! I am constantly drawn in, looking around just to admire the art style, it's beautiful!

Weapons and such, again, too early for me to tell. However, As it stands, see no reason to upgrade other than cosmetic due to the combat being so easy.

I often found my self just walking around Boston enjoying the surroundings.

My gripes are few but little.

Combat, looks amazing, smooth, fluid and overall badass. However, it's VERY easy, You can take out a group of red coats with 1 finger covering 2 buttons.

The frontier, as rich as it is, I don't really know what to do just yet, it's so early on in the game though, I am just missing it until I am on the fully grown up main char and will go back to it to explore at a later time. For now I am running across it to get to missions.

Screen tearing, really annoying, all AC games suffered from it, no amount of vsync helps either :(

This is with everything on max, forced Tesselation, SSAA, LOD -1, SMAA, HDR and Vibrance. SweetFX 1.3 installed and on default settings (SMAA, HDR and Vibrance turned on, just not changed)

I did have the Join or Die pre ordered for £35 but just cancelled that and have gone digital deluxe at GMG for £38.50. Not too bothered by the little trinkets or physical art books and for the extra £3.50 I get the soundtrack, all four of the pre-order DLC missions rather than just one and all five big DLCs which will be released later.

Just picked up the same, cheers for the unintentional heads up! ;)
